Qualcomm has officially introduced its latest Snapdragon X2 Series platform in Malaysia, marking the next step forward for AI-powered Windows PCs. Building on the momentum of the original Snapdragon X Series, the new Snapdragon X2 Series promises improved performance, stronger gaming capabilities, enhanced on-device AI processing, and better overall efficiency for modern users who are increasingly relying on AI-assisted workflows in their daily lives.

The company says the Snapdragon X2 Series is designed to meet the demands of today’s users, whether they are students, professionals, creators, or casual users who need a responsive and portable machine that can keep up throughout the day. As AI tools become more deeply integrated into productivity software, communication platforms, and creative applications, Qualcomm is positioning its Snapdragon AI PCs as devices that can deliver smarter experiences while maintaining long battery life and lightweight form factors.
One of the key highlights of the Snapdragon X2 Series is Qualcomm’s continued focus on efficiency-first architecture. Unlike traditional laptop processors that often prioritise raw performance at the expense of battery life and thermals, Snapdragon X2 Series chips aim to balance performance and efficiency. Qualcomm claims the new platform delivers responsive multitasking performance while keeping devices thin, lightweight, and cool during operation.
The Snapdragon X2 Series also introduces upgraded on-device AI capabilities through dedicated NPUs (Neural Processing Units). These AI-focused processors allow laptops to handle AI workloads locally without relying entirely on cloud processing. This can improve responsiveness, privacy, and power efficiency for tasks such as AI-assisted productivity, live transcription, content generation, image editing, and smart collaboration features.
According to Qualcomm, the rise of AI PCs is changing how consumers evaluate laptops. Instead of looking purely at benchmark numbers, users are now paying closer attention to real-world experiences such as battery life, portability, responsiveness, thermal performance, and how seamlessly AI features integrate into their workflows.
Alicia Lim, Head of Sales and Marketing for Southeast Asia at Qualcomm Technologies, said the AI PC ecosystem has evolved rapidly over the past year and a half. She noted that consumers are increasingly interested in devices that deliver practical everyday benefits rather than just impressive specifications on paper.

The Snapdragon X2 Series is also targeting entertainment and gaming improvements. Qualcomm says the latest platform offers broader compatibility across modern PC gaming experiences, helping Snapdragon-powered Windows devices become more versatile machines for both work and leisure. While Snapdragon PCs were initially seen primarily as productivity-focused devices, the company is now expanding into gaming and more demanding applications as software optimisation continues to improve.
Battery life remains one of the strongest selling points of Snapdragon AI PCs. Qualcomm highlighted that devices powered by the Snapdragon X Series and Snapdragon X2 Series are designed for real-world all-day usage. Combined with efficient thermal performance and silent operation, these laptops aim to provide a more comfortable and portable computing experience for users who are constantly on the move.
The company also emphasised that modern users are increasingly multitasking across collaboration tools, streaming services, creative applications, communication platforms, and AI-powered workflows throughout the day. Snapdragon AI PCs are designed around these usage patterns by combining long battery life, responsive performance, and AI acceleration in slim and lightweight devices.
Several major PC brands are already offering Snapdragon-powered laptops in Malaysia. These include Acer, ASUS, HP, Lenovo, and Microsoft. Qualcomm confirmed that newer models equipped with Snapdragon X2 Series processors are also arriving in the Malaysian market.
Among the upcoming models mentioned are the ASUS Zenbook A16, Lenovo IdeaPad 5 2-in-1, and Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x. These devices are expected to showcase the capabilities of the Snapdragon X2 Series platform while offering different form factors and price points for various types of users.

Malaysian consumers can purchase Snapdragon AI PCs through retailers such as Harvey Norman, Thunder Match (TMT), and PC Image. Qualcomm is also continuing to work closely with ecosystem partners to strengthen the Windows on Snapdragon experience as the AI PC market continues to expand.
With the Snapdragon X2 Series, Qualcomm appears determined to push AI PCs further into the mainstream by focusing on practical improvements that matter to everyday users. From enhanced AI processing and better gaming support to long battery life and lightweight designs, the company is aiming to create laptops that feel smarter, faster, and more efficient for the next generation of computing.
