HUAWEI has officially launched the new MatePad Air in Malaysia, bringing together an ultra-thin design, AI-powered productivity features, and a PC-like experience in a portable tablet.
Measuring just 5.3mm thin and weighing 509g, the HUAWEI MatePad Air is designed for users who need a device that can easily move between work, study and everyday use. It is available in Airy Blue, White and Sakura Pink.
The tablet comes with PC-level WPS Office, which has been upgraded with WPS AI to assist with everyday productivity tasks. The AI features can generate presentation slides, create document drafts, refine written content, summarise PDFs and analyse spreadsheets.
For note-taking, HUAWEI Notes includes AI Speech-to-Text for recording and transcribing lectures, meetings and discussions. AI Handwriting Enhancement can improve the clarity of handwritten notes, while users can also annotate PDF files and add remarks. The built-in AI Tutor provides step-by-step explanations for subjects including chemistry, economics, biology, and physics.
On the front, the HUAWEI MatePad Air features a 12-inch 2.8K Ultra-Clear OLED PaperMatte Display. It has a 92% screen-to-body ratio, 4.69mm ultra-narrow bezels, and a notch-free FullView design. The display reaches up to 1,200 nits peak brightness, while the PaperMatte finish is designed to reduce glare and reflections for a more comfortable, paper-like viewing experience.
The tablet also supports the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro, which offers pinch, press, and rotate gestures for navigating and interacting with content. With 16,384 levels of pressure sensitivity, the stylus is designed for precise writing and drawing. It also supports Swipe to Turn Pages for easier navigation of documents and presentations, as well as an Air Mouse function for remotely controlling slides during presentations.
Powering the HUAWEI MatePad Air is a Kirin T93C octa-core chip, supported by up to 8GB of virtual memory for multitasking. It also packs a 10,100mAh battery with support for 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge.
The HUAWEI MatePad Air is priced at RM3,999 in Malaysia and is now available for purchase. Launch benefits worth up to RM4,503 include a RM500 rebate, HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard, HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro, HUAWEI Wireless Mouse, AI-powered WPS Office with a one-year WPS AI subscription, AI-powered HUAWEI Notes and HUAWEI Premium Service.
