POCO has officially introduced two new budget-friendly devices in Malaysia, namely the POCO C81 Pro smartphone and the POCO Pad C1 tablet. Targeted at users who want dependable everyday devices without spending too much, both products focus heavily on display quality, battery life, and practical features that enhance day-to-day usage.
POCO C81 Pro

Leading the announcement is the new POCO C81 Pro, which arrives as the latest addition to the brand’s C Series lineup. The device stands out with its large 6.9-inch display, making it one of the biggest screens available in the entry-level smartphone segment. POCO says the panel supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate, allowing smoother scrolling and animations when browsing social media, gaming, or navigating the interface.
The display also reaches up to 800 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode, which should improve outdoor visibility under direct sunlight. To further improve usability, the smartphone comes with Wet Touch Technology 2.0, enabling the screen to remain responsive even when users have wet or oily fingers. On top of that, POCO has equipped the display with triple TÜV Rheinland certifications to reduce eye strain during prolonged usage.
Battery life is another major highlight of the POCO C81 Pro. The device packs a large 6,000mAh battery, which POCO claims is capable of delivering over two days of usage on a single charge under light daily use scenarios. The company also notes that the battery is designed for long-term durability, maintaining at least 80% of its original capacity even after 1,000 charging cycles.
Powering the smartphone is an octa-core processor paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. While this is clearly not a flagship-level setup, it should still provide sufficient performance for everyday tasks such as messaging, video streaming, casual gaming, and multitasking. The phone also supports memory expansion technology, allowing compatible variants to utilise additional virtual RAM for smoother app management.
Another notable upgrade is the inclusion of Xiaomi HyperOS 3, making the POCO C81 Pro the first device in the POCO C Series to ship with the latest software platform. The operating system introduces several AI-powered and productivity-focused features, including Google Gemini, Circle to Search, Xiaomi HyperIsland, and Xiaomi Interconnectivity for better cross-device experiences.
In terms of design, the POCO C81 Pro adopts a familiar modern smartphone look with a glossy camera ring surrounding the rear camera module. Despite housing a large battery and display, the device maintains a relatively slim 8.15mm profile while weighing 208g. The smartphone will be available in Green, Gold, and Black colour options.
For photography, the device features a 13MP AI dual-camera setup at the back alongside an 8MP selfie camera on the front. POCO claims the upgraded rear camera sensor improves light intake by 13% compared to its predecessor, helping users capture brighter and more detailed photos. HDR mode and Night mode are also included for better results across different lighting conditions.
POCO Pad C1

Alongside the new smartphone, POCO also unveiled the POCO Pad C1, an affordable entertainment-focused tablet designed for users who want a larger screen experience on the go. The tablet features a 9.7-inch 2K display with support for up to a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smoother visuals for video streaming, reading, gaming, and general browsing.
The display can reach up to 600 nits of peak brightness, while triple TÜV Rheinland certifications are once again included to improve viewing comfort during extended usage sessions. POCO appears to be placing strong emphasis on multimedia consumption here, especially for users who frequently watch videos or attend online classes on their tablets.
Design-wise, the POCO Pad C1 adopts a slim metal unibody construction that gives the tablet a more premium appearance despite its affordable positioning. POCO also states that the device underwent more than 40 quality tests to ensure durability for everyday use.
Battery performance is another strong selling point for the tablet. It houses a sizeable 7,600mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to 1.7 days under light usage scenarios. The tablet supports 18W fast charging to minimise downtime, while an additional 10W reverse charging feature allows it to function as a portable power bank for other devices.
Under the hood, the POCO Pad C1 runs on the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 platform. The chipset is paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage, depending on the selected configuration. Users who require more storage can also expand capacity further via a microSD card of up to 2TB.
Like the POCO C81 Pro, the tablet also runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and supports Xiaomi Interconnectivity features for seamless interactions across Xiaomi devices. AI-powered functions such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search are also included to improve productivity and accessibility.
