Nothing has officially introduced the new Phone (4b), expanding its smartphone lineup with a model that brings the brand’s signature transparent design, Glyph Interface, and AI-powered software experience to a more accessible segment. Building on the success of the Nothing Phone (4a) series, the Phone (4b) combines upgraded hardware with long-term software support and a familiar Nothing user experience.

The Nothing Phone (4b) adopts a refreshed design inspired by the Phone (4a) series, combining the new Glyph Bar from the Phone (4a) with the unibody construction found on the Phone (4a) Pro. The device features Nothing’s recognizable transparent aesthetic with a crystal-clear camera module that seamlessly blends into an eco-polycarbonate unibody. It is also IP64-rated for dust and water resistance while being engineered to withstand up to 600N of bending force. Buyers can choose between Black, White, and Blue colour options.

Returning on the Nothing Phone (4b) is the Glyph Bar, which consists of 45 individually controlled mini-LEDs capable of reaching up to 3,500 nits of brightness. The lighting system displays notifications, charging progress, recording indicators, and custom alerts, allowing users to receive important information without constantly turning on the display.

Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, built on a 4nm manufacturing process. According to Nothing, the chipset delivers an AnTuTu score exceeding one million while offering improved power efficiency and enhanced on-device AI performance. The processor also works alongside Qualcomm’s sixth-generation AI Engine to accelerate photography, voice recognition, and Nothing’s Essential AI tools.

The Nothing Phone (4b) also packs the largest battery ever found in a Nothing smartphone, featuring a 5,200mAh capacity. Nothing claims up to 18 hours of mixed usage, including up to 22 hours of YouTube playback or 26 hours of Instagram browsing. The battery supports 33W wired fast charging, reaching 50% in under 30 minutes and a full charge in just over an hour. It is also designed to retain up to 90% of its original capacity after approximately 1,200 charging cycles.

To maintain stable performance during intensive workloads, the Phone (4b) is equipped with a custom 4,400mm² vapour chamber that helps keep temperatures up to 2°C lower during demanding tasks such as gaming and 4K video recording. Nothing says the phone supports frame rates of up to 90FPS in BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile, while lighter titles such as Subway Surfers and League of Legends: Wild Rift can reach up to 120FPS.

For photography, the Nothing Phone (4b) features a 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), paired with an ultra-wide camera offering a 119-degree field of view. The camera system is backed by Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 4, which introduces Ultra XDR imaging by combining 13 RAW frames to produce improved dynamic range, colour accuracy, and detail.

Video recording supports up to 4K at 30fps with OIS, Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS), and AI-assisted stabilisation working together to reduce camera shake. The Phone (4b) also introduces Dual Video Capture, allowing users to record simultaneously using both the front and rear cameras while freely positioning the selfie window on screen. Additional photography features include Signature Presets, Playground creative tools, and exclusive Disco and DV filters for both photos and videos.

On the front, the device sports a 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The panel delivers up to 1,200 nits of outdoor brightness, 2,000 nits peak brightness, HDR10+ support, and a 1,000Hz instant touch sampling rate for more responsive gaming and touch interactions.

Audio has also received an upgrade with dual stereo speakers that deliver a wider stereo effect compared to the Phone (4a). Nothing’s 160-level volume control also provides finer adjustment for more precise audio tuning.

Running out of the box is Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. The latest software introduces smoother animations, refined interactions, the new Soundscape Widget, and pixel-level micro-shifting technology to reduce AMOLED burn-in over time. Nothing is promising three years of Android OS updates alongside six years of security updates, making it one of the longest software support commitments in its class.

The Nothing Phone (4b) also includes the complete suite of Essential AI features available on Nothing’s flagship smartphones. These include native ChatGPT integration across the interface, Google Gemini, Circle to Search, Hey Google, Essential Space, Essential Search, Essential Voice, Essential Apps, and Playground, all accessible through the dedicated Essential Key.

Additionally, the company also announced the Ear (3a), which introduces 32MB of built-in flash storage, allowing users to capture audio moments directly through their earbuds.

Powered by Audio Snapshot, Ear (3a) lets users instantly clip media they’re listening to, whether listening back to an online lecture or saving a voice note from a friend. By simply pinching both earbuds, Ear (3a) can capture both before and after the trigger, creating an audio “screenshot” of the moment.

Recordings are automatically synced to the Nothing X app, where they can be replayed, edited, shared, and transcribed. Users can also transform key transcript moments into shareable quote cards, making it easier to revisit and share what stands out.

The Ear (3a) features a new 12 mm dynamic driver designed to deliver deeper bass and greater detail. Certified for Hi-Res Audio Wireless and supporting LDAC, Ear (3a) enables high-quality audio transmission up to 24-bit/96 kHz, ensuring music remains rich, balanced and true to the original recording. Users can further personalise their listening experience through Advanced EQ in the Nothing X app, with an 8-band equaliser and profile sharing capabilities.

The Ear (3a) also delivers up to 45 dB of Wideband Active Noise Cancellation, helping users stay focused wherever they are. It comes with up to 10 hours of playback on the earbuds and up to 42 hours in total with the charging case when ANC is disabled. With ANC enabled, it delivers up to 6 hours on the earbuds and up to 25 hours in total with the charging case.

In Malaysia, pricing and availability for Ear (3a) will be announced at a later date.
