The Nothing Phone (2a) is here! Nothing has officially announced its latest addition to the smartphone business — the Phone (2a). The phone embodies the first-ever internal smartphone design concept that was created back in 2020.
Nothing has created a new product icon: the eyes by placing the cameras inside the NFC coil. The phone features an industry-first with its 90° angle unibody cover wrapping around the edges to create a new dimension and perspective to Nothing’s design. There’s also an iconic Glyph Interface on the back of the phone.
The Nothing Phone (2a) sports a 6.7” flexible AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate that ranges from 30Hz to 120Hz to ensure smooth responsiveness whilst allowing for better battery consumption. Also, with a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, Phone (2a) delivers an uncompromised viewing experience even in the brightest outdoor conditions.
Powering the Phone (2a) is a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Nothing claims that the performance of Phone (2a) is 13% more powerful than Phone (1) and 16% more efficient.
The Nothing Phone (2a) packs a dual 50MP rear camera that’s powered by TrueLens Engine. The TrueLens Engine is a series of advanced computational algorithms that come together to ensure every shot taken on Phone (2a) is as close to real life as possible. This includes Ultra XDR, which has been co-developed with Google to ensure a more accurate display of highlights and shadows in every shot. It works by capturing eight frames at different exposure levels in RAW format and then adjusting the brightness of each pixel up to five times to display the most true-to-life result. The phone also has a 32MP front camera that uses the same sensor as Phone (2).
The Nothing Phone (2a) packs a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging. It runs on Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14 with an impressive three years of software updates and four years of security updates.
The Phone (2a) is now available for pre-order, retailing at RM1,699 (12GB+256GB) with two color options — Black and Milk. The phone will be publicly available in Malaysia on Saturday, March 9.
