If you are a car enthusiast like me, for sure you have a dream car. Just recently, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveiled not one, but a few dream cars, calling it the Mercedes-Benz Dream Cars Collection. Well, these dream cars include — the new Mercedes-AMG GT C, Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet, and Mercedes-Benz CLS.
Mercedes-AMG GT C
Originally crafted as a roadster, the Mercedes-AMG GT C no doubt is many people’s dream car. It follows the AMG GT family design direction, featuring a long low hood featuring the AMG Panamericana grille with new Jet Wing air intakes, and a broad rear end which portrays an aggressive stance and offers improved traction from the wide tires and tracks length.
Additionally, the car has adopted a special technical highlight from the AMG GT R: the AIRPANEL active air management system. Vertical louvers located in the lower area of the front apron can be opened and closed by an electric motor in around one second. This ensures that the cooling performance is according to need. Constantly achieving the ideal position calls for highly intelligent and fast control.
The car is powered by the 4.0-litre biturbo V8 developed and engineered by AMG and mated to an AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed transmission, which produces 557 hp and 680 Nm of torque, 47 hp, and 30 Nm respectively more than the AMG GT S – good for a 0-100 km/h time of 3.7 seconds on to a top speed of 316 km/h.
The Mercedes-AMG GT C is priced at RM1,461,605.60 (OTR without Insurance), similar to the S 63 Coupe.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet is a premium soft-top convertible. The fabric soft top is available in the colors dark brown, dark blue, red or black. A fully automatic acoustic soft top comes as standard.
Like the recent launched S-Class Cabriolet, the car also features Widescreen Cockpit with COMAND Online infotainment and extended intelligent safety functions.
The car is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 245 hp and 370 Nm of torque. The car can reach from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds with a limited top speed at 250 km/h.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet is available as an E 300 specification and presented in sporty AMG Line, priced from RM588,888 (OTR without Insurance).
Mercedes-Benz CLS
Lastly, the company also showcased the CLS, in two variants: Mercedes-Benz CLS 450 Coupe and Mercedes-AMG CLS 53.
The CLS 450 Coupe comes with a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with EQ Boost (integrated starter/generator) and a 48-volt onboard electrical system. The car also features the latest generation of driving assistance systems, with route-based driver support provided by the Driving Assistance Package. It also comes with the Widescreen Cockpit and the ambiance lighting is individually adjustable in 64 colors, which also includes the air vents.
