HONOR officially announced the global release of the HONOR Magic5 series and Magic Vs. Just like last year, HONOR continues its dual-flagship strategy with its Magic5 series. Additionally, the company also announced the refreshed version of the original Magic V — Magic Vs.
HONOR Magic5 Pro
The HONOR Magic5 Pro features the all-new Eye of Muse design language, which is inspired by the first image of the black hole at the center of the milky way. The camera ring houses a triple 50MP setup — 50MP main with a customized 1/1.12″ sensor, f/1.6 aperture, and OIS + 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide 122° + 50MP Sony IMX858 periscope with 3.5x optical zoom. The camera system is also aided by a 3D ToF laser focusing system. Apart from that, it also has a curved design, inspired by the works of architect Antoni Gaudí. HONOR calls it Gaudí Curve.
The phone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. It has a 6.81-inch (2,848×1,312) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. As usual, the screen is curved on four sides. HONOR also mentioned the screen can hit a peak HDR brightness of 1,800 nits. The screen also supports HDR10+ and is calibrated for color accuracy at two brightness levels —120 nits (indoors) and 800 nits (outdoors).
The phone also comes with two chipsets — Discrete Display Chipset and Discrete Security Chipset, the former helps boost the frame rate in games and has an always-on HDR effect to enhance videos, while the latter keeps sensitive information like passwords and biometric data.
The HONOR Magic5 Pro is also IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. It packs a 5,100mAh battery that supports 66W wired and 50W wireless SuperCharge. The phone also runs on MagicOS 7.1 based on Android 13, which introduces improvements over the previous version.
The phone comes in five colors — Glacier Blue, Meadow Green, Coral Purple, Orange, and Black.
HONOR Magic5
As for the Magic5, it is pretty similar to the Pro variant but with some compromises. It has a smaller 6.73-inch display with a peak HDR brightness of 1,600 nits.
The triple-camera setup has also been dialed down — 54MP main (1/1.49″) + 50MP ultra-wide + 32MP telephoto. It is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, but the memory configuration is 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It also has the same 5,100mAh battery that supports 66W wired SuperCharge, but the vanilla model missed out on wireless charging. The phone is available in Blue and Black colors.
HONOR Magic Vs
And finally, the global version of HONOR Magic Vs, which is the company’s latest foldable device. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold4. The device is pretty slim, measuring just 12.9mm when folded and 6.1mm unfolded. Unlike its rivals, the phone folds tightly without a gap and has an almost fully flat screen when unfolded.
The HONOR Magic Vs features a 6.45-inch external display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 90% screen-to-body ratio. When unfolded, the HONOR Magic Vs delivers a tablet-like experience with an extra-wide 7.9-inch internal display, enabling users to multitask and view content with remarkable ease.
The phone packs a triple-camera setup on the back — 54MP main (f/1.9) + 50MP ultra-wide (f/2.0) + 8MP 3x telephoto (f/2.4, OIS). It runs on the latest MagicOS 7.1 based on Android 13. In addition to MagicRing for multi-device collaboration and Magic Text for intelligent text recognition, the foldable flagship features Smart Multi-window and APP Extender to support multi-tasking across applications and within the same application, respectively, helping users save time and achieve more in life.
The HONOR Magic Vs packs a 5,000mAh battery that also supports 66W SuperCharge. The device is available in two colors — Cyan and Black.
