Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4

The wait is over! As mentioned previously, Samsung today announced the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4. Both devices feature customizable form factors, tailored experiences, and upgraded performance.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4

In terms of design, the Galaxy Z Fold4 looks quite similar to its predecessor. It still features an Armor Aluminum frame and hinge cover along with exclusive Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the Cover Screen and rear glass. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold4 still comes with an IPX8 rating for water resistance.

The device sports a 7.6-inch Main Screen with a brighter screen, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a less visible Under Display Camera (UDC) featuring a new scatter-type sub-pixel arrangement. The Cover Screen of the Galaxy Z Fold4 is shorter and wide — a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Powering the device is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with 12GB RAM and up to 1TB UFS 3.1 internal storage. Yes, the 1TB model has made its return.

In terms of camera, the device has an upgraded triple-camera setup — 50MP main with Dual Pixel AF OIS + 12MP ultra-wide + 10MP telephoto (3x optical zoom) with OIS. It comes with a variety of camera modes, including the larger Zoom map activated on Capture View Mode, Dual Preview, and Rear Cam Selfie are custom-built to take advantage of the unique form factor for increased capturing flexibility. And with the larger pixel size, a 23% brighter sensor, and enhanced processing power, users can capture clear images even at night. It still has the same 4,400mAh battery that supports 25W Super Fast Charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is also the first phone to ship with Android 12L, a special version of Android created by Google for large-screen experiences, including foldables. Multitasking on the Galaxy Z Fold4 is easier than ever, so users can get more done on the move. The new Taskbar provides a layout similar to your PC, offering access to your favorite and recent apps. Multitasking is also more intuitive, thanks to new swipe gestures. Instantly switch full-screen apps to pop-up windows or split your screen in half for more ways to multitask.

Samsung’s partnerships with Google and Microsoft take multitasking to the next level. Google apps, including Chrome and Gmail, now support drag-and-drop, allowing users to quickly copy and paste links, photos, and more from one app to another. With Google Meet, users can now connect with more people while enjoying virtual co-activities, including co-watching videos on YouTube or playing games together on a video call. Microsoft’s full Office suite and Outlook take advantage of the foldable display, providing more information on the screen and faster ways to interact with the content. The multitasking experience is complete with S Pen functionality, enabling on-the-go drawing and notetaking with streamlined storage inside the Standing Cover with Pen case.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is available in four colors — Graygreen, Beige, Phantom Black, and Burgundy. Pricing as below:

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4

The Galaxy Z Flip4 also looks pretty similar to its predecessor, but slimmer. Samsung claims that this is the most refined design yet thanks to the slimmer hinge, straightened edges, contrasting hazed back glass, and glossy metal frames. Like the Z Fold4, the Z Flip4 also features an Armor Aluminum frame and hinge cover along with exclusive Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the Cover Screen and rear glass. The phone is also IPX8 rated for water resistance.

The phone sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It has the same 1.9-inch Super AMOLED (260 x 512 pixel) Cover Screen, which you can still take high-quality selfies by leveraging the main camera with the upgraded Quick Shot.

Powering the phone is also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with 8GB RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Yes, you can now go all the way up to 512GB for the Z Flip4, the 128GB option is still available though.

The Galaxy Z Flip4 still has a dual-camera setup next to the Cover Screen — 12MP ultra-wide + 12MP main with Dual Pixel AF and OIS. As for taking selfies, it has a 10MP front-facing camera. The phone now packs a larger 3,700mAh battery with 25W Super Fast Charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is available in Bora Purple, Graphite, Pink Gold, Blue, and Bespoke Edition. The Bespoke Edition now available in 28 countries worldwide, offers glass colors and frame options that provide 75 combinations to choose from, allowing customers to completely control the look of their device. Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro

Additionally, Samsung has also announced the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, the successor to the Buds Pro.
