Xiaomi 13 Series Officially Launched in Malaysia

Xiaomi officially launched the Xiaomi 13 series in Malaysia, which is the company’s latest flagship device lineup in collaboration with Leica. According to Xiaomi, both Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 aim to offer a brand-new smartphone photography experience to its international users.

Xiaomi 13 Pro

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is the top-of-the-line model in the series, sporting a 6.73-inch WQHD+ 3D-curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is capable of achieving 1,200 nits full-screen brightness and 1,900 nits peak brightness, as well as displaying accurate colors with its TrueColor display. Its front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which is the first-gen material. Powering the phone is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

The phone features a 3D-curved ceramic body for a uniform look that transitions smoothly, especially into the camera mode. It comes in two colors, Ceramic White and Ceramic Black.

Additionally, the phone is also IP68 rated for dust and water resistance, ensuring optimal protection and peace of mind. It has Leica Vario-Summicron 1:19-2.2/14-75 ASPH camera system. It covers focal lengths from 14mm to 75mm and consists of a 23mm wide-angle main camera with an ultra-large 1-inch IMX989 sensor (50MP with OIS), a 75mm floating telephoto camera (50MP with OIS), as well as a 14mm ultra-wide angle camera (50MP). The phone has a 32MP hole-punch front camera for taking selfies.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro packs a 4,820mAh battery that supports Xiaomi 120W HyperCharge and 50W wireless turbo charging. The phone runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Xiaomi promises that the phone will receive 3 generations of Android system updates, along with 5 years of security patch updates. Users are also entitled to experience 6 months of free trial for both Google One cloud storage of up to 2TB, which brings expanded storage space for memories taken with the pro-grade camera system, and up to 6 months of YouTube Premium with ad-free access to YouTube and YouTube Music app.

Xiaomi 13

The Xiaomi 13 is the default device in the series, which comes with some compromises compared to the Pro variant. It sports a smaller 6.36-inch Full HD+ flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which is less durable compared to the Gorilla Glass Victus.

The phone is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage, pretty similar to the Pro variant. It is also IP68 rated for dust and water resistance.

In terms of camera, it has Leica Vario-Summicron 1:1.8-2.2/15-75 ASPH camera system, which has three different cameras compared to the Pro variant — 54MP Sony IMX800 main with OIS + 10MP telephoto + 12MP ultra-wide. The phone has the same 32MP hole-punch front camera for taking selfies.

The Xiaomi 13 packs a 4,500mAh battery that supports 67W wired turbo charging and 50W wireless turbo charging. It also runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 that will receive 3 generations of Android system updates, along with 5 years of security patch updates. The Xiaomi 13 series is available for sale in Malaysia starting March 8 via Authorized Xiaomi stores, official Xiaomi retailers, and online at official stores on Lazada and Shopee.
