The Sony Xperia 1 was just available in Malaysia earlier this month, and here comes the compact version — Sony Xperia 5. Sony Malaysia has just announced that the phone will be available in Malaysia from November 1 onwards.
The Xperia 5 is actually the compact version of the Xperia 1, instead of the successor. It sports a smaller 21:9 CinemaWide 6.1-inch Full HD+ HDR OLED display. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage.
In terms of camera, it is pretty much the same as the Xperia 1 — 12MP f/1.6 26mm wide-angle + 12MP f/2.4 52mm telephoto + 12MP f/2.4 ultra-wide. Selfie wise, there’s an 8MP front-facing camera with SteadyShot feature.
The Xperia 5 packs a 3,140mAh battery that supports USB PD fast charging. It runs on Android 9 and will be available in Blue, Grey, Red, and Black. The phone will be available in Malaysia from November 1 at Sony Stores KLCC and Curve, Sony Store Online, and selected Sony Centres, pricing at RM3,399.
As an early bird promotion, each purchase of the Xperia 5 will be entitled to a free WH-H900N h.ear on 2 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones (Twilight Red and Moonlit Blue only, which worth RM1,159), limited stock only, while stocks last.
