Sony Xperia 1 Pre-Order Starts on August 24

A few months ago, there was news claimed that Sony Mobile officially no longer interested in Malaysia. It was heartbreaking to see that the once-famous Japanese phone maker has gone down to this way. However, it seems that the situation has changed, the Sony Xperia 1 is on its way to Malaysia!

Instead of under Sony Mobile Malaysia, Sony Malaysia will be selling the Xperia phones now. The Xperia 1 is the company’s latest flagship, sporting a 21:9 CinemaWide 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display. The screen is powered by the X1 mobile engine, which can be found on Sony’s award-winning BRAVIA TV.

Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB RAM and up to 128GB expandable storage. The phone has triple-camera setup on its back, which are all 12MP — f/1.6 26mm wide-angle + f/2.4 52mm telephoto + f/2.4 ultra-wide. The phone also comes with Cinema Pro app, letting you shoot cinematic videos. It also has Optical SteadyShot feature that allows you to shoot smooth and shake-free videos.

The phone also comes with stereo speakers enriched by Dolby Atmos, so that you get to enjoy good quality audio while watching Netflix. Like most Xperia flagships, it has IP65/IP68 certified water resistance guards against the elements. Juicing up the phone is a 3,300mAh battery that comes with Smart Stamina, Battery Care, and Xperia Adaptive Charging, help to keep you powered throughout the day.

The Sony Xperia 1 will be available in Black, Grey, and Purple from early October 2019 at Sony Stores KLCC and Curve, Sony Store Online and selected Sony Centres, at the price of RM4,299.
