Samsung officially announced the new Galaxy S23 FE, which is the company’s latest FE series smartphone. There are several upgrades from last year’s S21 FE, but don’t expect it to be on the level of the other S23 models.
The Galaxy S23 FE still sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate (60~120Hz). The phone features the same design language as other S23 models with its new floating camera and premium finish protected with IP68 water and dust resistance. The phone is made out of recycled materials — pre-consumer aluminum and glass, plus post-consumer plastic (sourced from discarded fishing nets, water barrels, and PET bottles).
Powering the phone is a 4nm processor, Samsung didn’t mention which chipset but we believe it is either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the Exynos 2200 and it will depend on where you live. It comes with 8GB RAM with two storage options — 128GB and 256GB.
In terms of cameras, the Galaxy S23 FE still packs a triple-camera setup on the back with the main camera now upgraded to a 50MP sensor. It still has a 12MP ultra-wide camera and 8MP 3x telephoto camera. The front camera is now a 10MP sensor, its predecessors have a 32MP selfie camera.
Just like its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 FE has a 4,500mAh battery with 25W charging. The phone runs on One UI 5.1 on top of Android 13 and it follows other high-end Samsung devices with 4 OS updates and 5 years of security patches.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will be available in Malaysia starting 10 October 2023 with four color options available — Mint, Cream, Graphite, and Purple. Pricing is as below:
- 8GB+128GB: RM2,999
- 8GB+256GB: RM3,299
