Samsung has finally announced the new Galaxy S24 series, featuring three phones — S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 Ultra gets the new Titanium frame, while the S24+ and S24 both come with an enhanced Armor Aluminum frame. The good news is all Galaxy S24 series phones now get an LTPO panel, including the S24+ and S24, which will automatically adjust the refresh rate from 1-120Hz to conserve battery.
Galaxy S24 Ultra
The Galaxy S24 Ultra remains the top-of-the-line in the Galaxy S24 series. It sports a 6.8-inch QHD+ (3,120×1,440) Dynamic AMOLED 2X (1-120Hz) flat display. Yes, Samsung has finally opted for a flat display for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It now features a Titanium frame with Corning Gorilla Armor for front and back glasses.
Powering the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor for Galaxy with 12GB RAM and three UFS 4.0 storage configurations — 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
In terms of cameras, the Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with more of the same quad-camera setup with some changes — 12MP ultra-wide + 200MP main with OIS + 10MP 3x telephoto with OIS + 50MP 5x telephoto with OIS. The 10MP 10x telephoto lens is now being replaced by a 50MP 5x telephoto lens, Samsung claims that the 5x telephoto lens provides the same 10x optical quality when zoomed in 10x. The phone still has the same 12MP selfie camera with autofocus.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging. The phone runs on One UI 6.1 based on Android 14, which offers better customization and privacy controls, as well as the new AI features. Other features include the IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-wideband, and Bluetooth 5.3.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes in four colors — Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow. There are also three Samsung.com exclusive colors — Titanium Green, Titanium Orange, and Titanium Blue.
Galaxy S24+
As for the Galaxy S24+, Samsung has shrunk its bezels for a bigger display but kept a similar form factor. The phone sports a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ (3,120×1,440) Dynamic AMOLED 2X (1-120Hz) display. Yes, the screen resolution has also bumped up to QHD+ resolution. The phone has an enhanced Armor Aluminum frame with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for front and back glasses.
Powering the Galaxy S24+ is either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor for Galaxy or Samsung’s Exynos 2400 processor. Malaysia will be getting the Exynos 2400 variant. There are two UFS 4.0 storage configurations for the phone — 256GB and 512GB, both variants come with 12GB RAM.
The Galaxy S24+ has the same triple-camera setup as its predecessor — 12MP ultra-wide + 50MP main with OIS + 10MP 3x telephoto with OIS. It still has the same 12MP autofocus front camera for taking selfies.
The Galaxy S24+ now packs a 4,900mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging, larger than its predecessor (S23+ 4,700mAh). The phone also runs on One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 with many AI features included. Other features include the IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, Ultra-wideband, and Bluetooth 5.3.
The Galaxy S24+ comes in four colors — Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow. There are also three Samsung.com exclusive colors — Jade Green, Sandstone Orange, and Sapphire Blue.
Galaxy S24
The Galaxy S24 is the smallest edition in the Galaxy S24 series and also a smaller variant of the Plus model with some minor changes. It still has thin bezels in a similar form factor as its predecessor. The phone sports a 6.2-inch Full HD+ (2,340×1,080) Dynamic AMOLED 2X (1-120Hz) display. It also has an enhanced Armor Aluminum frame with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for front and back glasses.
Just like the Plus model, it comes with two processor options, but Malaysia will be getting the Exynos 2400 variant. There are three storage configurations for the phone — 128GB (UFS 3.1), 256GB (UFS 4.0), and 512GB (UFS 4.0), all variants come with 8GB RAM.
It shares the same triple-camera setup as the Plus model — 12MP ultra-wide + 50MP main with OIS + 10MP 3x telephoto with OIS. There’s also a 12MP autofocus front camera for taking selfies.
