realme MagDart Goes Official with 50W Output

realme has recently announced the first magnetic wireless charging solution for Android — the realme MagDart, together with a phone and some accessories. Basically, the realme MagDart is pretty similar to the MagSafe that Apple has introduced for the iPhone 12 lineup.

The realme Flash is the company’s first concept phone, and it is also the first Android smartphone to support magnetic wireless charging. The phone features a 4,500mAh battery and supports up to 50W of MagDart wireless charging, which can charge the battery from 0 to 100% in less than an hour, nearly the same as realme 50W SuperDart wired charger.

The company didn’t share much info about the phone besides a triple-camera setup and Snapdragon 888 processor. Not sure whether the company will be releasing this phone for mass production, or it will just remain as a concept.

As for the realme MagDart chargers, there are two variants — 50W and 15W. The 50W MagDart charger features an active air cooling system that keeps the mainboard and coil temperatures at a reasonable level with a compact and powerful fan that can quickly remove heat by drawing a large airflow into the charger so that it can maintain the charging power at a high level for a longer time.

The 15W MagDart charger is just 3.9mm thin, which is 26.4% thinner than the MagSafe charger. The company claims that it is still faster than MagSafe due to its Separated Coil & Board design, which separates these two sources of heat generation. The 15W MagDart charger can charge the 4,500mAh battery from 0 to 100% in 90 minutes.

2-in-1 MagDart Power Bank

Additionally, there is also a realme MagDart Power Bank and its special charging base. The two can be paired together to become a vertical charging station. The phone can get charged from the power bank, and the base can charge the battery bank at the same time. If you need to charge on the go, the power bank can be pulled up and attached to the smartphone.

realme has also introduced other MagDart accessories — the MagDart Beauty Light, MagDart Wallet, and realme GT MagDart Charging Case. It’s safe to say that realme is really committing to the MagDart ecosystem, and we are pretty sure that the next realme flagship phone will come with this feature. My only question is, will it work with the iPhone 12?
