MINI Electric First Edition Unveiled in Malaysia

The MINI Cooper SE was launched last month, which is the first all-electric MINI ever in Malaysia. Well, MINI Malaysia has just introduced the MINI Electric First Edition, only 15 units will be available in Malaysia.

Exterior wise, the First Edition looks quite similar to the regular Cooper SE, but with some changes here and there. It still has the same front-mounted electric motor, producing 135kW/184hp and 270Nm torque. The car has a top speed of 150km/h and 0 to 100km/h will take you 7.3 seconds. It comes with a 28.9kWh 12-module T-shaped battery that can also be recharged up to 80% within just two and a half hours with the MINI Wallbox Plus. Just like other electric cars, brake energy regeneration from decelerating the vehicle not only feeds back into the high-voltage battery but also allows for the vehicle to be driven using only a single pedal. MINI claims that the car has a driving range of up to 234km (WLTP) or 270km (NEDC).

It comes with the Lights Package which includes the Matrix LED headlights and LED rear lights featuring the iconic Union Jack design. Only that the First Edition Door Sill and First Edition Side Scuttle now bear the indication of its exclusivity — “one of fifteen”.

The MINI Electric First Edition comes equipped with the Driving Assistant System, a camera-based driving assistance system package consisting of the Speed Limit Info and digital high-beam assistant that automatically activates at speeds of 50km/h and higher, or when there is insufficient exterior lighting. The Driving Assistant System is also complete with the person warning with light city braking function and the approach control warning with light city braking function. The Park Assistant, front and rear Park Distance Control, Cruise Control with braking function, along with the Wired packages also come as standard in this exclusive MINI.

You can also download the MINI Connected app to get full information on the vehicle’s status such as range, charging progress, prediction of the vehicle’s fully charged time, as well as preconditioned to the set interior temperature while being charged. The app also displays the owner’s personal driving statistics and tutorials to help improve skills for efficient driving.

With only 15 units available in Malaysia, the MINI Electric First Edition’s bespoke side scuttles and door sills bear the indication of units available such as “one of fifteen”.

The interior comes with the MINI Yours Walknappa Leather Lounge Upholstery and MINI Yours Walknappa Leather Steering. It has 12 ambient light colors for you to choose, and the Panorama Glass Roof presents a clear view of the sky, day or night.

Additionally, the car also comes with a wealth of navigational information via an 8.8-inch MINI Navigation System featuring the full MINI Connected suite including Teleservices, Remote Services, Intelligent Emergency Call, MINI Online and Apple Carplay. The exclusive vehicle also arrives with a Head-Up Display, 12-Speaker Harman Kardon Sound System, and wireless charging function for mobile phones.

Available in the exclusive MINI Yours Enigmatic Black and White Silver with Energetic Yellow accents, the MINI Electric First Edition retails at RM238,380.78. With the Balloon Financing from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, ownership of the MINI Electric First Editionstarts from RM2,728.00 per month (based on estimates of 80% loan on a five-year tenure).
