HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series Launched in Malaysia, Starts at RM1,799
Huawei Malaysia has officially launched the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series, its latest flagship smartwatch lineup focused on health intelligence, premium design and smarter everyday experiences. The launch also sees the introduction of the new HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 5 Max, expanding Huawei’s latest wearable and personal audio offerings.
The HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series comprises the HUAWEI WATCH 6 and HUAWEI WATCH 6 Pro. Unlike the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series, which focuses more on sports performance and battery life, the WATCH 6 Series is designed to deliver a more comprehensive smartwatch experience with proactive health monitoring, independent connectivity and intelligent daily interactions.
The HUAWEI WATCH 6 Pro features premium materials such as titanium alloy and nano-tech ceramic, while the standard HUAWEI WATCH 6 adopts a lighter design with Huawei’s EasyCross strap for improved comfort. Both models feature spherical sapphire glass for enhanced durability and clarity, with the Pro models offering display brightness of up to 3,500 nits.
Health monitoring remains one of the key highlights of the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series. The upgraded X-TAP sensor features a 20-level tactile sensor and a 12-channel PPG sensor, enabling more comprehensive health sensing.
The smartwatch series also introduces Hypertension Risk Study and Diabetes Risk Study features, making it the first smartwatch in Malaysia to support both health risk studies. Huawei Malaysia is also collaborating with Sunway University on the Hypertension Risk Study to validate its wearable technology for hypertension risk screening in real-world settings. The study is co-led by Prof. Emeritus Datin Dr. Chia Yook Chin and Dr. Say Yee How.
Powered by X-TAP, the upgraded Health Glance feature allows users to obtain a health overview in just 60 seconds with a single tap. It covers 13 health metrics across basic health, cardiovascular health, endocrine health and respiratory health. Other health-related features include Morning Briefing, Physical Readiness Score and Health Analysis.
For connectivity, the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series supports built-in eSIM, allowing users to make and receive calls directly from the watch without having their smartphone nearby. It also supports Dual-Phone Connection, enabling users to stay connected to two smartphones simultaneously.
The smartwatch further supports independent navigation through Petal Maps, alongside music and audiobook playback. Huawei has also introduced new gesture controls, including Quick Flip, Pinch and Slide, allowing users to manage selected functions more intuitively. The series also comes with the Celia assistant.
For fitness enthusiasts, the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series supports more than 100 sports modes, including trail running, golf and freediving up to 40 metres. It also features AI Workout Analysis, which provides insights into workout performance and training data.
Meanwhile, the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Pro comes with the Expedition App, featuring route planning, offline maps, waypoint marking and return navigation to support outdoor exploration.
Battery life varies depending on the usage mode, with the 42mm models offering up to seven days of battery life, while the 46mm models can last up to 11 days.
Alongside the smartwatch series, Huawei Malaysia has also introduced the HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 5 Max. Priced at RM159, the earbuds offer up to 80 hours of total playback with the charging case and up to 10 hours on a single charge.
The HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 5 Max also features up to 52dB Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a six-microphone system for clearer calls, Bluetooth 6.0 and Dual-Device connectivity. It supports Hi-Res Audio with LDAC and is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, as well as laptops. The earbuds also come with IP55 water and dust resistance.
