HUAWEI today has just announced its flagship foldable smartphone — the HUAWEI P50 Pocket. The P50 Pocket is the company’s latest initiative to challenge the Galaxy Z Flip3.
The HUAWEI P50 Pocket adopts the signature P50 series double-ring design, with one ring housing the camera module and the other the smart cover screen. It sports a 1.04-inch OLED circular cover screen with a resolution of 340 x 340.
The phone features the new-generation Multi-Dimensional Hinge and Multi-Dimensional Lifting design, allowing the smartphone to achieve a seamless fold and slim form factor. It sports a 6.9-inch Full HD+ OLED 120Hz main display with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Powering the HUAWEI P50 Pocket is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. Just like the P50 series, the P50 Pocket doesn’t come with 5G connectivity.
In terms of cameras, the HUAWEI P50 Pocket packs a triple-camera setup on the back — a 40MP True-Chroma Camera + 13MP ultra-wide camera + 32MP Ultra Spectrum Camera, together with a 10-Channel Multi-Spectrum Sensor and an Ultra Spectrum illuminator. The phone also has a 10.7MP front camera for taking selfies.
The HUAWEI P50 Pocket has a 4,000mAh battery, which supports up to 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge. Available in Black, White, and Premium Gold, the phone will be available in selected markets, with pricing and availability varying by market.
