HUAWEI May Launch 2020: Everything You Need to Know

HUAWEI announced a few new devices in February at its Product and Strategy Virtual Launch 2020. While a few devices are now already available in Malaysia, there are still some on the way. The wait is over! The company has just launched a few devices at HUAWEI May Launch 2020, launching the 2020 version MateBook laptops, together with new MatePad tablets and a speaker.

We’ve already covered the 2020 MateBooks — MateBook X Pro, MateBook D 14, and MateBook D 15. The MateBook X Pro is a trend-leading laptop with an unconventional 3:2 aspect ratio 13.9-inch 3K Ultra FullView display. It comes with the 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10510U processor with NVIDIA MX250 GPU, 16GB RAM, and 1TB PCIe SSD.

As for MateBook D 14 and D 15, both now come with up to a Ryzen 7 CPU with Radeon Vega 8 graphics. Both also have up to 8GB RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD. The D 14 sports a 14-inch IPS Full HD display, while the D 15 sports a 15.6-inch IPS Full HD display.

Additionally, the company also refreshed the MateBook 13, which now comes with a 10th Generation Intel Core processer, 16GB RAM, and supports a 2K HUAWEI FullView Display with Multi-touch and Multi-screen Collaboration.

These laptops are basically just a refreshed model, which will be available from 16th May 2020 onwards. The company also celebrates the month of Ramadan with gifts worth up to RM756.

MatePad Series

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro was available last month, and now the company is bringing two more additions to the MatePad series — MatePad and MatePad T.

The MatePad retails at RM1,399, which is a slightly less powerful variant but still shares almost all the features from the Pro variant. It has a 10.4-inch 2k display, 7nm Kirin 810 chipset, four high amplitude speakers tuned by Harman Kardon, and a 7,250mAh battery. It also supports the smart magnetic keyboard and HUAWEI M-Pencil, just like the MatePad Pro.

The MatePad T is an 8-inch tablet retailing at just RM559. It is powered by an octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The tablet also runs on EMUI 10 and packs a 5,100mAh battery.
