Google Pixel 5a Officially Announced

While we all are still waiting for the Pixel 6, Google has announced the Pixel 5a, which is quite similar to the Pixel 4a (5G) that was announced last year.

The Pixel 5a sports a 6.34-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, much like the Pixel 4a (5G) but with a bigger screen. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The camera is pretty similar as well — 12.2MP dual-pixel main with OIS + 16MP ultra-wide rears and 8MP front-facing camera. Unlike the Pixel 4a, it doesn’t have laser autofocus for faster-focusing speed.

Google has added IP67 water and dust resistance for the phone, so it can take a splash or a spill. The phone also packs a larger 4,680mAh battery and it still supports USB-C 18W fast charging.

The Pixel 5a is only available in one color option — Mostly Black, with forest green undertones and an olive-colored Power button. Google will also offer a new case in four different colors, each color creates unique shades for personalization.

At the moment, the phone is now available for pre-order in the U.S. and Japan on the Google Store, retailing at $449.
