ASUS ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate Officially Announced

ASUS ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate

ASUS announced the ROG Phone 6 series a few months ago, which features two models powering the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This time around, the company unveils the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate, which are both powered by the Dimensity chipset.

Both phones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB storage. Externally, both phones look quite similar to the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro. The ROG 6D Ultimate features a color ROG Vision matrix display on the back, while the standard one has an RGB LED-illuminated logo on the back.

Both models sport the same 6.78-inch 165Hz AMOLED HDR10+ display with an industry-leading 720Hz touch-sampling rate and a world-beating 23ms ultra-low touch latency. The camera setup on the back is also the same — a 50MP Sony IMX766 main + 13MP ultra-wide + macro camera. Both phones also have a 12MP front camera for taking selfies. Both phones also pack a 6,000mAh battery that also supports 65W HyperCharge.

Similar to the ROG Phone 6 lineup, both ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate also feature AirTrigger 6 to support various gestures, including new features such as Dual Action, Press and Lift, and Gyroscope Aiming. Even the accessories for the ROG Phone 6 lineup are also compatible with both phones.

However, the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate features an all-new AeroActive Portal design. After adding heat-dissipation fins to the ultra-thin vapor chamber, it is installed in the heat-dissipation ‘door’ of the AeroActive Portal. The other end of the vapor chamber is connected to the system-on-a-chip (SoC). When the AeroActive Cooler 6 is connected to the mobile phone, nearly one liter per second of cold air will be blown onto the fins, and the carefully designed wind tunnel cools the chipset to dissipate heat. The specially designed fins increase the thermal surface area by up to 9x and boost thermal efficiency up to 20% when the AeroActive Portal is activated.

Both phones will be available in Space Gray color only. ROG Phone 6D comes equipped with Aura RGB lighting on the back,12GB/16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB of storage. ROG Phone 6D Ultimate, which is boxed with the AeroActive Cooler 6, features a color ROG Vision matrix display on the back, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of storage.

Additionally, ASUS has also unveiled the ROG Phone 6 BATMAN Edition, which is identical to the ROG Phone 6/6D, powered by either the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 or the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor.

The main difference is its appearance, which has a special semi-matte finish carefully designed to reflect light in a way that mimics the iconic image of the Bat-Signal searchlight illuminating dark clouds in the Gotham City night sky. It also has a special Aura RGB illuminated logo with an outline image of the instantly recognizable Bat emblem. As usual, ASUS also made its user interface Batman-themed. The custom in-display fingerprint icon also means that users can unlock the phone by tapping the famous yellow Bat emblem.

It also comes with a specially designed hard-shell travel case that kept the phone itself, a USB-C-powered Bat-Signal searchlight mini-projector that can project one of two versions of the famous Bat-Signal onto nearby surfaces, a Batman Aero Case with a special finish, and a hidden ‘Easter egg’ image.

Unfortunately, ASUS is yet to unveil the availability and pricing of these phones in Malaysia. Stay tuned for more information in the future!
