ASUS ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro Officially Announced

It’s that time of the year again when ASUS announces the new ROG Phone. Just like last year, the company has announced the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro.

Powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the ROG Phone 6 series features up to 18GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB storage. ASUS claims that the new chipset delivers more than 50% performance improvement when compared to the Snapdragon 888. The upgraded GameCool 6 cooling system includes 360° CPU cooling technology — a 30% larger vapor chamber and 85% larger graphite sheets that should allow the phone to unleash maximum sustained performance.

Both ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro sport a 6.78-inch 165Hz AMOLED HDR10+ display with an industry-leading 720Hz touch-sampling rate and a world-beating 23ms ultra-low touch latency. The screen refresh rate can be set to 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, or 165Hz for an unparalleled gaming experience. The Pro model also features a color ROG Vision mini-display on the back.

ASUS has also upgraded the AirTrigger 6 to support various gestures, including new features such as Dual Action, Press and Lift, and Gyroscope Aiming. Both phones feature symmetrical seven-magnet dual speakers and still have the 3.5mm audio jack. The sound has also been optimized in collaboration with the Swedish digital audio pioneer Dirac.

In terms of camera, both phones feature a triple-camera setup — a 50MP Sony IMX766 main + 13MP ultra-wide + macro camera. Both phones also have a 12MP front camera for taking selfies. Just like their predecessors, both phones pack a 6,000mAh battery that also supports 65W HyperCharge.

Additionally, the ROG Phone 6 series also comes with exclusive accessories, including the new AeroActive Cooler 6 and Glass Screen Protector. ASUS has also announced several gaming headphones, including the new ROG Cetra True Wireless Pro dual-mode wired/wireless model featuring an ESS Quad DAC and an AI Noise-Canceling Microphone and the ROG Cetra True Wireless for low-latency gaming audio. For detailed and true-to-life headset audio, the ROG Delta S Wireless — the first ROG dual-mode wireless gaming headset — and the lightweight 270g ROG Delta S Core gaming headsets are on display.

ROG Phone 6 Series Pricing and Promotion in Malaysia

The ROG Phone 6 will be available in Malaysia in two variants, in both Storm White and Phantom Black color options. The 12GB+256GB variant is priced at RM3,599, while the 16GB+512GB variant will be available for RM4,399. Both variants will be available in Malaysia starting from August 2022.

Meanwhile, the Pro model with 18GB RAM and 512GB storage will be priced at RM4,999. Availability is set for September 2022 for the ROG Phone 6 Pro.

Pre-orders for the ROG Phone 6 will commence on 6th July 2022 on Shopee and offline channels, with RM548 worth of early bird freebies, comprising of a 1-year warranty extension (worth RM199) and an AeroActive Cooler 6 (worth RM349). On top of that, pre-orders of the ROG Phone 6 on Shopee will also be entitled to 10% off on the ROG Slash Hip Bag and ROG Slash Crossbody Bag, which are priced at RM499 and RM399, respectively.
