Apple announced the iPhone 12 series alongside the Pro models last October and it comes in 5 colors — White, Black, Blue, Green, and (PRODUCT) RED. Well, the company has just added a new color for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini — Purple!
This is not the first time Apple adds a new color during the product midlife cycle. The company introduced the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in 2017.
Just like other colors, the iPhone 12 has a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display, while the mini has a smaller 5.4-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display. Both models have a new flat-edge design with an aerospace-grade aluminum enclosure and combined with the Ceramic Shield front cover, A14 Bionic chipset with 5G connectivity, and industry-leading IP68 rating for water resistance.
Both models have a dual-camera setup on the back — 12MP ultra-wide + 12MP f/1.6 main, which is now capable of shooting HDR video with Dolby Vision at 30fps. Its front-facing TrueDepth camera is a 12MP f/2.2 unit, and for the first time, Apple enables Deep Fusion on all cameras, including the TrueDepth camera.
Both models will ship with iOS 14.5, which features the ability to unlock iPhone with Apple Watch while wearing a face mask, an enhanced Apple Podcasts app with redesigned show and episode pages, and a Search tab, as well as new emoji. In addition, Siri no longer has a default voice and will include more diverse voice options in English. This latest software update builds on the release of iOS 14, which delivered a major update to the Home Screen with beautifully redesigned widgets and the App Library, new ways to use apps with App Clips, and powerful updates to Messages.
Coming soon to Malaysia, Apple also introduced a new MagSafe Leather Case, Leather Sleeve in Deep Violet, a Silicone Case in Capri Blue, Pistachio, Cantaloupe, and Amethyst, and a Leather Wallet in Arizona. You can get it from Apple Online Store, Lazada, and Shopee. The prices remain the same:
