Besides Purple iPhone 12, Apple has also announced AirTag, which is the company’s new smart tracker that rivals the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag.

The AirTag is IP67 water and dust resistant tracker that comes with Ultra Wideband technology to communicate its location to Apple’s Find My app. It comes with a speaker and a user-replaceable CR2032 standard battery with over a year of endurance.

The AirTag connects to Apple’s Find My app on iPhone 11 and 12 series. It’ll show the tracker’s last known location on a map and you can even ring it using your phone or Siri if it’s in Bluetooth range.

With the Precision Finding feature, Apple uses the built-in U1 chip and Ultra Wideband technology to track the AirTag that isn’t nearby. It uses input from the camera, ARKit, accelerometer, and gyroscope to guide you with a combination of sound, haptics, and visual feedback.

Just in case you lost it, you can set it as lost and if it comes into range of another iPhone with the Find My app (in a country that supports the Find My network and doesn’t restrict Ultra Wideband), it will be notified with your contact information. It can also anonymously and securely use other phones to update its location.

Just like other Apple products, Apple also offers a range of accessories for the AirTag, such as the Polyurethane Loop, Leather Loop, Leather Key Ring, and there’s even the AirTag Hermes edition that comes with handcrafted leather accessories like the Bag Charm, Key Ring, Travel Tag, and Luggage Tag.

The AirTag is coming to Malaysia at a retail price of RM149 for one pack as listed at Apple’s Official Store. You can also get the accessories retailing up to RM199.
