For this year’s CES 2022, Acer had announced a special edition laptop in collaboration with National Geographic — the Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition, and a line of new Chromebooks that are targeted at casual consumers.
Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition
The Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition, as the name implies, is a collaboration between Acer and National Geographic. Every purchase of this laptop will also support the National Geographic Society. The laptop was designed with sustainability in mind, having most of its plastic be made of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. The Acer Aspire is a product of Acer’s “Earthion” initiative, which is a platform created to help tackle environmental challenges and to push the industry in a greener direction.
The chassis of the Aspire Vero is unique as it uses a material blend that consists of 30% post-consumer plastic and was selectively used in the chassis for the laptop’s durability, rigidity, and aesthetics. There are yellow pigments dotted around the textured grey surface, unique to the National Geographic Edition.
The laptop is powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics. In addition to that, the laptop also comes with Windows 11 out of the box and also supports Wi-Fi 6 for ultra-reliable connectivity. The laptop also has a generous selection of IO ports, including USB Type-C and USB 3.2 Type-A ports with can be used to charge other mobile devices even when the laptop is turned off.
As for pricing and availability, the Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition will be available in France in March at a price of €899; and in China in January at a price of ¥5,499. The laptop will also be available in multiple countries across the Asia Pacific.
