Besides Mi Note 2, Xiaomi also announced a concept phone — Mi MIX. The Xiaomi Mi MIX is a concept phone with edgeless display. The device sports a 6.4-inch (2,040×1,080 pixels) display with custom 17:9 aspect ration that takes up 91.3% of the front.
So, where is the earpiece and proximity sensor? The device uses a piezoelectric ceramic driver for the earpiece and an ultrasonic proximity sensor, both are hidden behind the display. The device has a full ceramic body, with ceramic back cover, ceramic frame, and ceramic side buttons.
Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with either 4GB RAM + 128GB storage or 6GB RAM + 256GB storage. Only the 256GB model will get gold trim, with 18K gold accents on the camera lens and fingerprint sensor on the back.
Camera wise, the device has a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and 4K video recording. The 5MP front-facing camera is 50% smaller than traditional camera modules, located below the screen.
Juicing up the Mi MIX is a 4,400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 supported. The Xiaomi Mi MIX will be available in China next month.
