Xiaomi EV has officially introduced the new Xiaomi SkyNomad Series, marking the debut of the company’s first SUV built on the new Xiaomi Kunlun Platform. The new lineup consists of two models: the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max, a flagship seven-seater extended-range SUV, and the Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 Max, a five-seat all-wheel-drive extended-range SUV. Both models are engineered to deliver greater flexibility, practicality, and comfort for everyday family use.

Designed around interior space

Unlike conventional SUVs where the cabin is designed around the vehicle’s exterior dimensions, Xiaomi says the SkyNomad was developed from the inside out. The company prioritised passenger space first before shaping the exterior, resulting in a large SUV that offers interior room comparable to an MPV.

The larger N90 Max measures 5,285mm in length with a 3,080mm wheelbase, while the N70 Max comes in at 4,960mm long with a 2,950mm wheelbase. The upright body design, flat roofline and high waistline maximise cabin space while maintaining a premium appearance.

The SUV also features active grille shutters, AI-assisted electric doors with obstacle detection, privacy curtains for rear passengers and an optional powered side step to make entry and exit easier.

Premium Cabin with Flexible Seating

Inside, Xiaomi has focused on creating a home-like environment using soft-touch materials across 95% of high-contact surfaces. The entire interior also meets OEKO-TEX certification standards, ensuring materials are safe even for young children.

The N90 Series comes standard with heated, ventilated front seats featuring 16-point massage functionality, while selected variants can be equipped with up to four zero-gravity seats.

A highlight of the SkyNomad Series is its fully flat floor that stretches from the front seats to the cargo area. Combined with extra-long seat rails, owners can easily reconfigure the cabin for different needs, including family outings, business meetings, camping trips, or transporting large cargo.

Depending on the seating arrangement, the cargo capacity expands up to 1,831 litres, while the seven-seat N90 Max can still accommodate seven 20-inch suitcases with every seat occupied.

The cabin also includes a sliding centre console with a built-in 9-litre refrigerator, 50W wireless charging, USB-C ports and multiple accessory mounting points.

Xiaomi Kunlun Platform Focuses on Practicality

Xiaomi Kunlun Platform

The SkyNomad Series is underpinned by the all-new Xiaomi Kunlun Platform, which was developed to maximise cabin space by integrating key vehicle components more efficiently.

The platform incorporates a compact five-in-one extended-range electric powertrain, redesigned suspension layout and a thinner battery pack, allowing Xiaomi to create one of the flattest cabin floors in its class.

Thanks to the flexible seating system, owners can transform the interior into multiple layouts, including a first-class four-seat configuration, lounge mode, children’s play area, sleeping space for camping, or a maximum cargo mode suitable for moving larger items.

Comprehensive Safety Technologies

Safety is another major focus of the SkyNomad Series. The body structure uses 90.4% high-strength steel and aluminium, with 2,200MPa ultra-high-strength steel reinforcing critical areas of the vehicle.

The N90 Max comes equipped with 12 airbags, including dedicated protection for third-row passengers. Xiaomi also developed the vehicle using crash test data that covers different occupant sizes, including female occupants and children.

Powering the SUV is Xiaomi’s latest Armor Scale Battery, featuring an 18-layer protection structure, enhanced thermal management and full production traceability. Xiaomi says the battery is designed to remain safe even after severe underbody impacts while reducing long-term battery degradation.

Additional safety features include emergency mechanical door releases, dual emergency tailgate pull handles, water-wading capability of up to 750mm, and 26 driver-assistance safety functions.

AI-powered Smart Cockpit

The SkyNomad Series runs on a cabin computing platform powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, delivering improved performance and AI processing.

The infotainment system supports six-screen connectivity, allowing content to be shared across multiple displays, while a 25-speaker sound system provides an immersive entertainment experience. Rear passengers also receive a dedicated 6.9-inch touchscreen for controlling cabin functions.

Xiaomi’s Hyper XiaoAi voice assistant can adjust seating layouts, lighting and climate settings through voice commands, while magnetic accessory mounting points and NFC shortcuts offer additional convenience.

For assisted driving, every SkyNomad model comes equipped with high-performance hardware, including LiDAR, 4D millimetre-wave radar and multiple cameras. The N90 Series further adds a rear LiDAR sensor to improve parking precision and obstacle detection.

Up to 1,705km Combined Driving Range

The SkyNomad Series adopts Xiaomi’s Kunlun HyperRange extended-range electric system, combining a large battery pack with a highly efficient range extender.

Battery capacities range from 52kWh to 76kWh. According to CLTC testing, the N70 Max delivers up to 505km of pure electric driving range, while the N90 Max achieves 464km.

With the assistance of its range-extending engine and fuel tank, the N90 Max offers a claimed combined driving range of up to 1,705km. Xiaomi also states that the powertrain requires servicing only once every three years or 30,000km after its first scheduled maintenance.

The N90 Max produces 310kW through its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and features double-wishbone front suspension, H-arm multi-link rear suspension, adaptive air suspension and continuously variable dampers for improved ride comfort and handling.
