Xiaomi has announced the arrival of its new REDMI 17 Series, comprising the REDMI 17 and REDMI 17 5G, alongside the entry-level REDMI A7. The new smartphones focus on long battery life, large high-refresh-rate displays, everyday performance, and durability.
The REDMI 17 Series comes equipped with a 7,500mAh battery, a 6.9-inch 120Hz display, a 50MP AI dual-camera system and IP64 dust and water resistance, while the REDMI A7 features a 6.88-inch 120Hz display and a 5,200mAh battery.
REDMI 17 Series
The highlight of the REDMI 17 Series is its large 7,500mAh battery, designed to provide extended usage throughout the day. Whether it is used for streaming, social media, gaming, or staying connected, the battery is designed to reduce the need for frequent charging.
For viewing, both models feature a 6.9-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother scrolling and more responsive interactions. The larger screen also provides a more immersive experience for watching videos and browsing content.
Under the hood, the REDMI 17 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, paired with UFS 2.2 storage for faster data access and everyday performance.
Meanwhile, the REDMI 17 comes with the MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra processor. Both models support up to 12GB of RAM expansion, helping improve multitasking and overall responsiveness.
For photography, the REDMI 17 Series features a 50MP AI dual-camera system. AI-based enhancements help optimise colours, lighting and scene recognition to produce more detailed and vibrant images across different shooting conditions.
The phones also come with IP64 dust and water resistance, offering protection against dust and splashes for added durability during everyday use.
Another addition to the REDMI 17 Series is a dynamic RGB light, making its debut on the REDMI Series. The lighting can be customised for incoming calls and notifications, adding another way for users to personalise their devices.
REDMI A7
Joining the REDMI 17 Series is the REDMI A7, Xiaomi’s latest entry-level smartphone designed around everyday essentials.
The REDMI A7 features a 6.88-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smoother visuals and scrolling. It is powered by a 5,200mAh battery, while the Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor handles day-to-day tasks.
For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 13MP AI camera system. The REDMI A7 also supports Wet Touch Technology, allowing the display to remain responsive even when the screen is wet.
The smartphone is available in a range of colour options and features a sleek design, combining everyday functionality with durability.
