The Xiaomi Mi A2 was announced a week ago alongside with the Mi A2 Lite. Well, it took the company just a week to announce the availability and pricing of both phones in Malaysia. The company also showcased the Mi A2 at the media experience session today.
The Mi A2 sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display with 403 PPI pixel density. Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
In terms of camera, the phone comes with a dual-camera setup — 20MP Sony IMX376 f/1.75 + 12MP Sony IMX486 f/1.75. Selfie wise, it has a 20MP Sony IMX376 f/2.2 front camera.
Like its predecessor, the Mi A2 is an Android One device, which should be receiving the latest Android update shortly after it’s released. The phone also packs a 3,010mAh battery.
The Mi A2 will be available in Black, Lake Blue, and Gold. The phone will go on sale nationwide on August 4th, retailing at RM999 (4GB RAM + 64GB storage) and RM1,199 (6GB RAM + 128GB storage). Additionally, the company will have a launch event at Mi Store KLCC on August 3rd.
Meanwhile, as for the Mi A2 Lite, the device will go on sale from August 18th onwards, retailing at RM699. The phone has a 5.84-inch Full HD+ 19:9 notched display. Powering it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Unfortunately, Malaysia is only getting the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant.
The phone also comes with a 12MP + 5MP rear cameras and 5MP front camera. Just like the Mi A2, it is also an Android One device. The phone packs a larger 4,000mAh battery, though.
In terms of color options, the Mi A2 Lite also comes in Black, Lake Blue, and Gold.
