Xiaomi Mi 10 Series Officially Announced

It’s a new year and the Xiaomi Mi 10 series is now officially announced, which includes the Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10. These phones are among the firsts to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, and also boasts a 108MP 8K-enabled camera and a dual stereo speaker system. The Mi 10 Series starts from RMB3,999 and will be available in mainland China starting from 24th Feb 2020.

The heart of the Mi 10, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, is the leading 5G platform to-date, which offers staggering multi-gigabit 5G connectivity, and delivers top-notch performance in terms of CPU, GPU, camera, and AI capabilities. It’s a three-cluster architecture and has a maximum of 2.84GHz. The performance is 25% better than its predecessor.

The phone is also equipped with the latest LPDDR5 that supports a maximum transmission rate of 5500Mbps. Boasting up to 50% improvement in performance without losing efficiency.

In terms of cooling, the Mi 10 uses a 3000mm² vapor chamber that is super large, graphene and a 6-layer graphite structure. It makes sure the Mi 10 can stay cool for extreme performance and 5G high-speed downloads.

The Mi 10’s main camera is a 108MP camera with a 1/1.33” ultra-large sensor. It also supports 8k ultra-clear video recording in 7,680×4,320 ultra-high resolution and 33MP photos. Besides the main camera, on the Mi 10 Pro, it includes a classic 50mm portrait lens with 2x optical zoom, a telephoto lens with 10x hybrid zoom, and a 20MP ultra-wide lens.

The screen on the Mi 10 will also not disappoint as it is a 6.67” AMOLED curved DotDisplay, with up to 800nit typical and a peak brightness of up to 1200nit.

The battery on the Mi 10 must be strong enough to power all these features, the 4,500mAh high capacity battery is up to the task and is equipped with 50W wired fast charge, 30W wireless fast charge, and up to 10W reverse charging. Charging time averages around 50 minutes for both wired and wireless charge to 100%.

Other features of the Mi 10 include an in-screen fingerprint sensor, an IR Blaster, multifunctional NFC for cashless payments and a linear haptic motor for touch response.

The Mi 10 price for Malaysia is TBD but it is selling at RMB3,999 in China with 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants. Whereas the Mi 10 Pro sells in China for RMB 4,999 and will be available in 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants.
