Xiaomi Launches the Redmi 9 in Malaysia

Xiaomi has recently launched several devices, which includes the Redmi 9. The Redmi 9 is Xiaomi’s entry-level smartphone and it receives several upgrades from its predecessor, including an all-purpose AI quad-camera set up, a 6.53″ FHD+ Dot Drop display, a powerful chipset, and edgy design. It is available from RM499 at Xiaomi’s online stores and authorized Mi stores. Besides that, Xiaomi has three ecosystem products that accompany the launch of the Redmi 9, which are the Mi Ionic Hairdryer, Vacuum-Mop, and Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro.

The Redmi 9 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G80 SoC, delivering significant performance and paired with a 5,020mAh large-capacity battery. It packs the power needed for everyday work and play and supports 18W fast charging. The display on the Redmi 9 is a 6.53″ FHD+ Dot Drop display and comes with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification and Corning Gorilla Glass for protection.

Besides having a chic gradient color design and an anti-fingerprint ripple texture, the Redmi 9 also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, and multi-functional NFC.

There will be two variants of the Redmi 9 that will go on sale, the 3GB + 32GB variant and 4GB + 64GB variant, both priced at RM499 and RM599, respectively. The phone will be available in three colors to choose from, which are, Carbon Grey, Ocean Green, and Sunset Purple.

Mi Ionic Hairdryer

The Ionic Hairdryer uses condensation technology to effectively smooth hair scales, reducing static electricity, and tames frizzy hair. The hairdryer is also equipped with NFC intelligent temperature control module that automatically adjusts the time alternating hot and cold air by monitoring ambient temperatures.

The Ionic Hairdryer retails at RM179 and is available for purchase at all authorized Mi Stores in Malaysia.

Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop

The robot is equipped with Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (vSLAM) algorithm and a 2-in-1 vacuum or mop function, which can provide a robust cleaning efficiency with better path planning. The vacuum motor is a Nidec brushless unit that boasts a 2500Pa max suction power with four power modes. The robot is also designed to be slim at around 8.2cm tall to make it be agile under furniture.

The robot also supports remote control functions from the Mi Home app as well as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

The Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop retails at around RM999 and is available for purchase at all authorized Mi Stores in Malaysia.

Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro

The Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro helps strengthen the Wi-Fi signal within a home or office with its two external antennas and 802.11n WiFi technology. It can provide up to 300Mbps of network speed and supports a maximum connection of up to 16 devices with an easy setup with the Mi Home app.

The Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro retails at RM59 and is available for purchase at all authorized Mi Stores in Malaysia.
