Xiaomi Launched Redmi 8 in Malaysia

Xiaomi had recently updated its best-selling Redmi series with the all-new and upgraded Redmi 8 smartphone. With an incredibly low price tag of RM499, the phone comes packed with a massive 5,000mAh battery for longer battery life and introduced a Type-C 18W fast charging feature for the phone. The Redmi 8’s 5,000mAh battery is capable of lasting two days without charge.

The Redmi 8 is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor and is available in two different variants, a 3GB + 32GB and a 4GB + 64GB variant. It also features dual-SIM support with dedicated microSD card support that allows further storage expansion up to 512GB.

It also comes with a 6.22-inch Dot Drop HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 for an immersive experience. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device.

There is also a dual-camera setup of 12MP + 2MP on the back of the device and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The phone comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which makes the phone splash resistant.

As for price and availability, the 4GB + 64GB variant will be available from 12th October onwards on Lazada, Shopee, and all Authorized Mi Stores. This variant will retail for RM599.

Whereas the 3GB + 32GB variant will be available from 18th October onwards and will retail for RM499. However, this version will only be available exclusively online on Lazada and Shopee.

Both variants will be available in three colors: Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue, and Ruby Red.
