vivo X Fold and vivo X Note Officially Announced Alongside vivo Pad

vivo has officially announced three new devices in China — vivo X Fold, vivo X Note, and vivo Pad. Both the X Fold and X Note are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, while the vivo Pad packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor.

vivo X Fold

Being the company’s first-ever foldable device, the vivo X Fold has an 8.03-inch AMOLED main display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a cover display just like the Galaxy Z Fold3, which is a 6.53-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. The main difference between these two displays is one is an LTPO 2.0 display that the refresh rate is able to slow down to 1Hz, the cover display is just a usual 120Hz panel.

The folding display uses SCHOTT UTG, which is the same one as Samsung’s. It has two ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors, not optical ones. It has an aircraft-grade floating wing hinge that allows the device to close flat and stay open at any angle between 60 to 120 degrees.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The device packs a 4,600mAh battery that tops up the battery in 37 minutes thanks to the 66W wired charging. It can also wirelessly charge at 50W and reverse wireless charge at 10W.

In terms of camera, it has a flagship-grade camera setup featuring ZEISS Optics — 50MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS + 48MP ultra-wide camera + 12MP 2x telephoto camera + 8MP 5x periscope zoom camera. It also has two 16MP front cameras, one on the inside and another one on the outside.

vivo X Note

The vivo X Note is a huge phone with a 7-inch QHD+ Samsung E5 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a larger ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the glass, which can read two fingerprints at the same time. Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with three storage options — 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage.

In terms of camera, the phone has a quad-camera setup — 50MP main with OIS + 48MP ultra-wide + 12MP 2x telephoto + 8MP 5x periscope zoom, quite similar to the X Fold but the main camera is slightly different. It also has a 16MP front camera for taking selfies. The ZEISS logo at the back means that the lenses are officially branded “ZEISS Vario-Tessar” and have a T* anti-reflective coating.

The vivo X Note packs a 5,000mAh battery, which can charge rapidly 80W over a wire and 50W wirelessly.

vivo Pad

For vivo’s first tablet — vivo Pad, which sports an 11-inch 2.5K display, with a 120Hz refresh rate and is supported by Dolby Vision to reproduce accurate colors and deliver an immersive viewing experience. The vivo Pad has a fairly thin bezel around the display, a convertible with the support of a keyboard accessory, and a stylus that magnetically attaches to the device to deliver a laptop-like experience.

The vivo Pad runs on the Snapdragon 870 processor with a new branch of vivo’s software, Origin OS HD. Built in with NFC, users can pair their vivo phone with the vivo Pad, which will mirror the phone’s display on the tablet, where can interact with phone apps and easily transfer files between the two devices. There are two versions available — 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB storage options.
