Showcase: UGREEN Fast Charging Solutions

Introduction

Whether you are using the iPhone 8, X, Xs, XR, or the newly launched 11 (not the 11 Pro), for sure the main complaint you have is the lack of quick charger in the box. If you are using one and didn’t know it actually supports fast charging, then now you know! Selling the fast charging power adapter and cable separately is a problem, but here’s another problem — they are all expensive! Well, at least from Apple. Below are the prices:

Now, you will at least need to get the two of the three products above, which will cost you at least RM250, just for a charger. Ever heard of UGREEN? UGREEN fast charging solutions should be able to save nearly half of the price. Thankfully, the company is kind enough to send me a few products to try out.

UGREEN 30W Wall Charger

First up is the 30W wall charger, which comes with two USB ports — one USB-C and one USB-A. The USB-C port supports either 5V/3A (15W) or 9V/2A (18W) output, while the USB-A port only supports 5V/2.4A (12W) output, in total it’s 30W. If you want to take advantage of iPhone’s fast charging, you’ll need to use the USB-C port. Hence, you’ll need to USB-C to lightning cable. Unfortunately, the 30W wall charger is not available in Malaysia.

UGREEN PD Fast Charging Cable (1m)

Here comes the PD fast charging cable, which is a 1-meter USB-C to lightning cable. According to the Lazada official page, the cable originally priced at RM99.99, but now priced below RM60, which also includes the 18W USB-C adapter (we’ll talk about it later). That’s a lot cheaper than Apple’s 18W charger and cable. The cable quality is pretty good, thicker than the one from Apple, which is a good thing, better durability. Additionally, the company also includes the cable management sleeve to prolong your cable life if you planning to bring this cable with you everywhere.

UGREEN 18W USB-C Adapter

The 18W USB-C adapter is the one selling in Malaysia, replacing the 30W wall charger. It only has one USB-C port, which supports either 5V/3A (15W) or 9V/2A (18W) output. The company claims that it is able to charge up the iPhone X 50% in just 30 minutes. If you are an Android user, it also supports QC 4.0. All you need to do is just get the USB-C to USB-C cable, which is even cheaper. Click here to find out more.

Final Words

Why pay more when you can get the same thing at a lower price? For sure, UGREEN fast charging solutions save more money for you to be able to enjoy maybe a few cups of coffee, or a well-treated meal. In fact, you can actually get two 18W USB-C adapter bundles, and still cheaper than one Apple’s 18W USB-C power adapter and USB-C to lightning cable. Plus, it also supports up to QC 3.0, which means fast charging for Android phones is possible too. It’s a shame that the 30W wall charger isn’t available in Malaysia, I really enjoy having two USB ports, which lets you charge two devices at the same time.
