IFA 2017: Sony Xperia XZ1 Series and XA1 Plus Officially Announced

IFA has always been the place where Sony announces its flagship of the 2nd half of the year. As usual, the company officially unveiled the latest flagship — Sony Xperia XZ1, alongside with the XZ1 Compact and XA1 Plus.

Sony Xperia XZ1 Specs

Just like the Xperia XZs, the XZ1’s rear camera is capable of taking 960fps super slow motion video at 720p resolution. Additionally, Sony has also added a new feature called 3D Creator, which allows you to create 3D images by scanning the face, head, freeform, and food. The Xperia XZ1 is also IP65/68 certified for water and dust resistance.

As always, the company also announced the XZ1 Compact, a flagship phone in compact size.

The XZ1 Compact comes with the same camera tricks as the XZ1 — 720p 960fps super slow motion video and 3D creator. The phone is also IP65/68 certified for water and dust resistance. Overall, the XZ1 Compact is just a smaller XZ1.

Sony Xperia XA1 Plus

As for the XA1 Plus, it sits in between the XA1 and XA1 Ultra. It still has the thin bezels on both sides of the phone, but a thick top and bottom chins.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact are one of the first phones to run on Android Oreo. According to Sony, the XA1 Plus and most of the 2016 Xperia smartphones will also receive Android Oreo update soon.
