The Sony Xperia PRO-I was announced last month with a 1.0-type Exmor RS sensor. Guess what? Sony Malaysia is now taking pre-orders for the phone, and this is not a phone for average consumers.
Despite having a 1.0-type Exmor RS sensor, Sony uses the sensor to produce 12MP images with a 2.4µm pixel pitch. The lens is Zeiss-coated and it comes with a variable aperture that goes from f/2.0 to f/4.0. The phone also comes with another pair of 12MP cameras — a 16mm f/2.2 124° ultra-wide camera and a 50mm f/2.4 2x telephoto camera.
The rest of the phone is quite similar to the Xperia 1 III — a 6.5-inch 4K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 888 processor with 12GB RAM and 512GB expandable storage, IP65/IP68 water & dust resistance, a 4,500mAh battery, and Android 11.
