Sony Xperia 5 II Officially Announced

While we are still waiting for the Xperia 1 II to hit our shores in November 2020, the Sony Xperia 5 II is now official! Like the Xperia 1 II, the Xperia 5 II offers high-end performance, but in a compact size.

The Xperia 5 II shares the same ergonomic design as the Xperia 1 II that fits comfortably in hand or pocket. The phone sports a smaller 6.1-inch 21:9 CinemaWide Full HD+ HDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate.

Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB expandable storage. Taking your gaming one step further, connect a PlayStation 4 DUALSHOCK 410 Wireless Controller and play Android games for an authentic gaming experience.

In terms of camera, the Xperia 5 II packs three 12MP cameras with different focal lengths: 16mm/24mm/70mm, one ultra-wide lens + main lens with OIS + telephoto lens. All three lenses feature the renowned ZEISS T* coating for reduced reflection, resulting in exquisite contrast and image rendering. Selfie wise, there’s an 8MP front-facing camera. Like the Xperia 1 II, the Xperia 5 II also comes with Photography Pro and Cinematography Pro apps, so you can shoot RAW images with manual controls and cinematic videos.

The Xperia 5 II packs a 4,000mAh battery with fast charge that charges up to 50% in just 30 minutes. Other features include IP65/68 water resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on both sides, front stereo speakers, High-Res Audio for wired and wireless, and a camera shutter button!

The phone will be available in Malaysia from December 2020 at Sony Stores KLCC & The Curve, Sony Store Online, and the Sony flagship store on Lazada. Color options are Black, Blue, and Pink, the price remains unknown.
