Sony WH-1000XM6 Officially Launched in Malaysia

Sony has officially unveiled the WH-1000XM6 headphones, which were released three years after the WH-1000XM5. As anticipated, the new model introduces several upgrades while bringing back a well-known design.

Earlier reports indicated that Sony would reintroduce a foldable design with the WH-1000XM6, prioritizing portability and ease of use. The accompanying carrying case has also been streamlined and now features simple magnetic latches to secure the headphones.

Under the hood, the WH-1000XM6 is equipped with 30mm neodymium drivers in each earcup, supported by Sony’s latest QN3 HD Noise Cancelling Processor and Adaptive NC Optimizer. While the noise cancellation performance remains on par with the WH-1000XM5, the new model improves handling of Sound Pressure Levels (SPL).

The headset now includes 12 microphones, an increase from the eight found in the previous generation. Battery life remains unchanged, with Sony advertising up to 30 hours of playback with active noise cancellation enabled and 40 hours with it turned off.

In Malaysia, Sony has opened pre-orders for the WH-1000XM6 through its official product page, Shopee, and Lazada, running until June 8. Priced at RM2,099, the headphones come in three color options: Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue, with availability set for mid-June.

As an early-bird incentive, Sony is offering a complimentary headphone stand worth RM199 and RM50 in Touch ‘n Go credit for customers who register their warranty on MySony, while supplies last.
