Qualcomm Technologies has announced a collaboration with Google to bring its Snapdragon X Elite platform to Googlebooks, a new category of laptops designed around Gemini Intelligence.
The new Googlebooks combine Snapdragon X Elite’s performance, power efficiency and AI capabilities with Google’s Gemini-powered computing experience. The laptops are designed to offer more proactive and personalised computing experiences, while also providing connectivity with Android smartphones and tablets powered by Snapdragon.
According to Qualcomm, Googlebooks powered by Snapdragon X Elite are designed to deliver all-day battery life, performance and proactive intelligence. They also support cross-device experiences and agentic AI capabilities, alongside Snapdragon NPU-powered tools and thousands of native Android applications and games.
The new laptop category is built around tighter integration between PCs and Android devices. Users with compatible Snapdragon-powered Android phones and tablets can access cross-device features designed to create a more seamless computing experience.
Googlebooks powered by Snapdragon X Elite include features such as Cast my Apps, Magic Pointer and Rambler. These tools are designed to help users stay productive by surfacing relevant information from emails, calendars and on-screen content, while providing phone integration and security features.
The platform also supports native Android applications and games, allowing users to access the wider Android ecosystem directly on their Googlebooks. Snapdragon Elite Gaming features are also supported, including capabilities aimed at delivering faster frame rates and enhanced graphics.
Qualcomm said the Snapdragon X Elite platform is designed to provide the performance and efficiency required for the new Googlebook category, while its NPU enables AI-focused capabilities. The company is working with Google and global PC manufacturers to bring these cross-device experiences to users of Snapdragon-powered Android devices.
Google also highlighted the integration between Googlebooks and the Android ecosystem, with Snapdragon X Elite providing the performance, battery efficiency and NPU capabilities required for native Android applications, cross-device connectivity and Gemini Intelligence features.
Dell and HP are the first manufacturers to introduce Googlebooks powered by Snapdragon X Elite. The HP Googlebook 14, for example, combines Snapdragon X Elite with Gemini Intelligence features and native Android application support in a premium laptop designed for productivity and connectivity.
Dell and HP Googlebook models powered by Snapdragon X Elite are now available for pre-order. Qualcomm notes that battery life varies depending on the device, settings, usage and other factors.
