Apart from the new foldables and tablets, Samsung also announced the new Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic, the latter now comes with the company’s most iconic rotating bezel. Both models come in two sizes each, and all variants come with an LTE option as well.
Available in 40mm and 44mm variants, the Galaxy Watch6 now lacks the rotating bezel as it now has a thinner bezel and larger screens at 1.3″ and 1.5″. The Galaxy Watch6 Classic is available in 43mm and 47mm with the same screens. All watches have a Super AMOLED screen with full-color AOD and sapphire crystal protection on top.
The new watches are powered by an Exynos W930 chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. For this generation, Samsung focuses more on the software side. The Galaxy Watch6 series now provides a more in-depth sleep insight thanks to the skin temperature sensors and the heart rate monitor.
The watches also support the full health tracking suite — ECG, Heart rate & HR alert, blood pressure, menstrual cycle prediction, and fall detection.
The watches now support Samsung Wallet and it can be used as a remote camera shutter. These are the first smartwatches to run on Wear OS 4 that support Google and 3rd party apps.
The larger sizes Watch6 and Watch6 Classic pack 425mAh batteries, while the smaller ones feature 300mAh batteries. All watches are also IP68 certified, can be submersed into water up to 50 m (5ATM), and are MIL-STD-810H graded.
Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic will be available in Malaysia nationwide from 18 August 2023 onwards.
