Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Series Goes Official

It’s that time of the year again where Samsung announces a new watch. Introducing the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series, which consists of the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic.

The Galaxy Watch4 comes with a modern, sleek, and minimalist design, while the Galaxy Watch4 Active comes with a rotating bezel and stainless steel body.

The Galaxy Watch4 is available in 44mm (1.36” screen) and 40mm (1.19” screen) sizes, while the Galaxy Watch4 Classic gets 46mm and 42mm options while keeping the same screen diameters.

According to the company, the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series comes with plenty of new features and an entirely redesigned 3-in-1 sensor, gearing towards health-conscious people. The BioActive Sensor on the back measures PPG (a technique detecting volume and blood flow), ECG (heart rhythm), and BIA (method of assessing body composition). Now, you can easily check your body composition from your wrist with just two fingers. In about 15 seconds, your watch’s sensor will capture 2,400 data points.

In case you didn’t know, Samsung and Google struck a deal, allowing Google to officially “adopt” Samsung’s Tizen smartwatch OS into Google’s own Wear OS. With One UI Watch, compatible apps are automatically installed on your watch when downloaded on your phone, and your important settings.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series is powered by Samsung latest’s 5nm chipset — Exynos W920. The chipset brings a 4G LTE Cat.4 modem and has a dedicated core for Always-On Display. The Watches have 1.5GB RAM and 16GB storage.

In terms of battery capacity, the bigger one is 361mAh while the smaller one is 247mAh. Samsung claims that it can offer up to 40 hours on a single charge while recharging the battery from 0 to 100 is “under two hours”.

The Galaxy Watch4 comes in Black and Silver; the 44mm has an exclusive Green color, while the smaller 40mm can also be purchased in Pink Gold. As for the Galaxy Watch4 Classic, it is available in either Black or Silver. The pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series in Malaysia are still unknown, but we will keep you posted when we got more information.
