Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy Tab S12 series, comprising the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+, bringing upgraded performance, larger displays, long-lasting battery life and the latest Galaxy AI features to its flagship tablet lineup.
Both models are designed around portability and productivity, with Samsung positioning the Galaxy Tab S12 series as a versatile device for work, learning and creative tasks. They also come with an S Pen in the box, while Samsung offers a range of accessories including the Book Cover Keyboard Slim for users looking for a more traditional workstation experience.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures just 5.1mm thick, making it Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy Tab to date. It weighs 692g for the Wi-Fi model and 695g for the 5G version. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S12+ measures 5.3mm thick and weighs 553g for Wi-Fi and 555g for 5G.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 2960 x 1848 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ comes with a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 2800 x 1752 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Both tablets support up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness and 1,000 nits in High Brightness Mode. Samsung has also upgraded its Vision Booster technology, which automatically adjusts brightness according to surrounding lighting conditions.
For audio, the Galaxy Tab S12 series features quad speakers with four-channel spatial audio, offering twice as many channels as the previous generation.
Under the hood, both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. Samsung claims the new 3nm platform delivers up to 61% faster NPU processing, 19% faster CPU performance and 17% improved GPU performance compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
The tablets also feature a newly designed 3D Vapor Chamber to help dissipate heat more efficiently during demanding workloads such as video editing and graphic design.
Battery life is another key focus of the new series. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra packs an 11,600mAh battery, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ comes with a 10,600mAh battery. Samsung claims up to 23 hours of battery life on the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and up to 21 hours on the Galaxy Tab S12+ on a single charge.
Both models support 45W wired charging, with Samsung stating that the battery can be charged from 0% to 100% in around 95 minutes using a compatible 45W adapter.
The tablets run Android 17 with One UI 9 and introduce a range of Galaxy AI features designed around productivity and learning. Users can use Multi Window to split the display into up to three sections, allowing them to take notes, watch content and access an AI assistant simultaneously.
Samsung Notes also works with Note Assist to summarise notes, while the included S Pen can be used for handwriting, annotations and sketching.
The tablets also come with a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, giving users access to Google’s AI models and features including Gemini and Gemini Notebook. Gemini Notebook allows users to bring together notes, images, recordings and files in one workspace, with tools for creating summaries, podcasts and quizzes.
For creative users, Adobe Photoshop comes pre-loaded on the Galaxy Tab S12 series, marking the first time Photoshop is pre-loaded on an Android tablet. The tablet-optimised interface supports S Pen input, while AI-powered tools such as AI Assistant, Generative Fill and Image to Video are also available.
Galaxy Tab S12 series users are also eligible for four months of free access to the Photoshop mobile premium plan, including 100 monthly generative credits.
Other applications available with the series include Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion, Clip Studio Paint, MyScript Math, MyScript Notes, Noteshelf 3 and ArcSite, offering additional tools for note-taking, studying, digital art, video editing and professional workflows.
The Galaxy Tab S12 series is also rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. Samsung says both the tablet and included S Pen can withstand submersion in up to 1.5 metres of freshwater for up to 30 minutes under laboratory conditions.
For connectivity, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0. Both models support microSD cards of up to 2TB.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 13MP + 8MP ultra-wide dual-camera setup on the rear, alongside a 12MP ultra-wide front camera. The Galaxy Tab S12+ has a 13MP rear camera and a 12MP ultra-wide front camera. Both models feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.
In Malaysia, the Galaxy Tab S12 series will be available from 7 October 2026 in Gray and Silver.
The Tab S12 Ultra 256GB Wi-Fi is priced at RM5,999, while the 256GB 5G model costs RM6,649. The Tab S12+ is priced at RM4,999 for the Wi-Fi model and RM5,649 for the 5G version.
From 7 October to 8 November 2026, eligible customers can purchase the Galaxy Tab S12 series from RM127.75 per month based on a 36-month instalment plan at 0% interest with eligible bank cards.
During the promotional period, selected purchases will also come with pre-loaded applications including Gemini, Adobe Photoshop, Notability and iQIYI worth RM1,123.58, as well as Book Cover Keyboard and S Pen accessories worth up to RM1,208. Customers can also receive up to RM500 rebate at checkout when paying with participating debit or credit cards or Shopee SPayLater, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
Samsung says both tablets will receive up to seven generations of OS upgrades and security updates. The tablets are also compatible with Samsung Care+, which provides coverage including accidental damage repairs, extended warranty and expert support.
