Samsung Brings AirDrop Support to Galaxy S26 Series

[Update] The feature will roll out in Malaysia starting 25 March 2026.

Back in November 2025, Google introduced the ability to share files with Apple devices via Quick Share on the Pixel 10 series. Now, Samsung is taking things a step further by bringing AirDrop support to its latest Galaxy S26 series, making cross-platform file sharing more seamless than ever using Quick Share.

With this update, users will be able to send and receive files between Android and Apple devices directly through Quick Share, effectively bridging one of the long-standing gaps between the two ecosystems. This means no more relying on third-party apps, cloud uploads, or messaging platforms just to transfer photos, videos, or documents across devices.

The rollout officially began on March 23, starting in Korea, and will gradually expand to more regions, including Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. For now, the feature is exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series, though Samsung has confirmed that support for additional devices will be announced at a later date.

Once the update is available, enabling the feature is fairly straightforward. Users can simply head into the Settings app, navigate to Connected Devices, tap on Quick Share, and toggle on the “Share with Apple devices” option. From there, file transfers between supported Android and Apple devices can be done wirelessly with minimal friction.

While this marks a significant step forward in cross-platform compatibility, do note that similar functionality will eventually arrive on other Android smartphones. However, there is currently no confirmed timeline for broader availability.
