Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Officially Announced

As teased last week, Samsung has just announced the latest addition to the Galaxy S20 lineup — the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. As expected, the “FE” stands for “Fan Edition”, which is a phone made by fans, for fans.

The Galaxy S20 FE sports a 6.5-inch flat Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor or an Exynos 990 processor, with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It seems that Samsung is offering the Snapdragon processor for the 5G variant, while the 4G variant will be stuck with the Exynos processor.

The Galaxy S20 FE still comes with a triple-camera setup, but with some changes. It still has the same 12MP main camera with OIS from the S20 series, but the telephoto lens is now an 8MP unit with OIS that offers 3x optical zoom and 30x Space Zoom. The third camera module is a 12MP ultra-wide lens with a 123° field of view. Selfie wise, it has a different 32MP front-facing camera.

Other features include IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, AKG-tuned stereo speakers with Dolby audio technology, 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging, and a new back design with six colors that features a premium textured haze effect that minimizes fingerprints and smudges. Colors include Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy, and Cloud White.

In Malaysia, we will be only getting the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, which retails at RM3,399. The phone will be available for pre-orders beginning from 24th September 2020, 10:00 AM until 8th October 2020 (or while stocks last).
