Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72 Officially Announced

Samsung has officially announced its latest Galaxy A series devices — the Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72, there’s also the Galaxy A52 5G but it is slightly different from the regular A52. The latest Galaxy A series comes with a brand new design and all devices come with IP67 water and dust resistance. This time, Samsung focuses on three areas — the screen, camera, and battery life.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72 pack a 6.5-inch and 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the A52 5G has a 120Hz refresh rate. The A52 and A72 are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, while the A52 5G uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor. All models come with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB expandable storage.

All models have a quad-camera setup, but only three cameras are the same — 64MP main with OIS + 12MP ultra-wide + 5MP macro. The A52 and A52 5G have a 5MP depth sensor completing its quad-camera setup, while the A72 has an 8MP 3x telephoto camera with OIS for the first time in the Galaxy A series.

Additionally, Samsung also added stereo speakers for all models, enhanced with Dolby Atmos for a rich soundscape filled with up-leveled depth and detail. All models also come with Samsung SmartThings, which connects to and controls thousands of devices in a smart home environment right from the Galaxy A series — including wearables, tablets, PCs, and TVs.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72 pack a 4,500mAh (including the A52 5G) and a 5,000mAh battery. These three devices also support 25W fast charging.

Available in Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, and Awesome White, the new Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72 run on Samsung One UI 3.1 on top of Android 11. Samsung also promised to provide software upgrades for three generations, and regular security updates for a minimum of four years. Stay tuned as we will keep you posted once we got the details about the launch date and prices.
