Xiaomi has officially unveiled the REDMI Note 17 Series in Malaysia, introducing four new smartphones comprising the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17.
The new lineup marks the first time REDMI has introduced a Pro Max model, with the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G featuring a 10,000mAh battery — the largest smartphone battery Xiaomi has offered to date.
The REDMI Note 17 Series is built around the company’s new “Built for Years” philosophy, with a focus on battery longevity, durability and long-term software support. The series also marks a milestone for REDMI, with the Note Series surpassing 500 million shipments worldwide.
REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G
At the top of the lineup, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G combines the series’ most extensive hardware upgrades with REDMI Titan Quality. It features a 10,000mAh battery with 16% silicon content, paired with 100W HyperCharge and up to 27W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi says the phone can provide up to three days of battery life on a single charge, while 20 minutes of charging can provide a full day of use under its internal testing conditions.
The Pro Max is also designed with long-term durability in mind. It carries TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Quality Certification and combines drop, water and battery performance testing. The device features IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, while its water-resistance testing included a 2-metre, 72-hour immersion test under specified laboratory conditions.
For additional protection against drops, the phone has SGS-certified drop resistance of up to three metres onto granite surfaces, alongside Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Its internal construction includes a high-strength motherboard, reinforced MDA mid-frame and impact-absorbing cushioning designed to protect key components.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G features a 6.83-inch 1.5K display with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and a 3200Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate when Game Turbo mode is enabled. It is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform and supports up to 16GB RAM through Memory Extension.
The device also supports Xiaomi HyperAI, Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google. For photography and video, it offers dual-video recording, 4K 30fps video recording, Professional Video mode and Live Moment. Its AI editing tools include AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, AI Beautify and AI Image Enhancement.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is available in Cloud Blush, Purple and Black, with 8GB+256GB and 8GB+512GB configurations listed in the Malaysian launch materials. Cloud Blush features a photochromic rear panel that changes from cloud white to a warm pink-orange tone when exposed to UV light.
REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G shares much of the durability-focused approach of the Pro Max model, including REDMI Titan Structure and TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Quality Certification.
It is equipped with an 8,340mAh battery and 67W HyperCharge, with Xiaomi’s battery system designed to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, equivalent to approximately six years of typical use based on Xiaomi’s internal testing.
Like the Pro Max, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G features IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection, as well as the 2-metre, 72-hour water-resistance test. It also has Underwater Mode and Wet Touch Technology 2.0, which is designed to maintain touch responsiveness when the display detects water, oil, foam or sweat.
The phone also features SGS-certified three-metre drop resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Its reinforced internal architecture is designed to provide additional protection against accidental impacts.
For the display, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G features a 6.83-inch 1.5K panel with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and a 3200Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate in Game Turbo mode. It also supports up to 16GB RAM through Memory Extension.

In Malaysia, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G is offered in Blue, Black and Purple, with 8GB+256GB and 8GB+512GB storage configurations.
REDMI Note 17 5G
The REDMI Note 17 5G brings the REDMI Titan Battery System to the more affordable end of the lineup, featuring a 7,700mAh battery with 45W turbo charging. Like the Pro models, Xiaomi says the battery system is designed to retain 80% or more of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles.
The REDMI Note 17 5G comes with a larger 6.99-inch display, compared with the 6.83-inch panels used by the Pro models. The display is positioned for immersive viewing, with the series also offering loud and clear speaker output for media playback, ringtones and notifications.
Performance is tuned for everyday use, while Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google are available across the REDMI Note 17 Series. Dual-video recording is also supported across the lineup.
The REDMI Note 17 5G also carries TÜV SÜD 5-star Battery Performance Certification, with its battery longevity validated through testing covering cycle lifespan, endurance, impact resistance and performance under extreme temperatures.

Completing the lineup is the REDMI Note 17, which also features a 7,700mAh battery and 45W turbo charging. It shares the series’ focus on long-term battery performance, with the battery designed to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles under Xiaomi’s testing conditions.
The REDMI Note 17 comes with a 6.99-inch display and is designed to provide an immersive viewing experience for activities such as streaming and gaming. It also benefits from the series-wide support for Google Gemini, Circle to Search with Google and dual-video recording.
Like the REDMI Note 17 5G, the standard REDMI Note 17 receives TÜV SÜD 5-star Battery Performance Certification. This places battery longevity among the key features shared across the entire REDMI Note 17 lineup.
REDMI Note 17 Series Availability
Xiaomi is opening pre-orders for the REDMI Note 17 Series until 4 September 2026 at Xiaomi Stores, with exclusive discounts and free gifts available. From 2 to 4 September, pre-orders will also be available through mi.com and Xiaomi’s official stores on Lazada, Shopee and TikTok Shop.
For the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, the pre-order programme requires a RM100 non-refundable upfront deposit, with selected customers receiving a RM300 discount deducted from the balance payment. Free gifts include the REDMI Headphones Neo and Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active.
The series also comes with extended warranty coverage, including a five-year battery warranty, three-year screen protection, two-year liquid damage coverage, two-year back cover warranty and two-year quality warranty. Buyers also receive two months of YouTube Premium and six months of Google One with 200GB of cloud storage.
To mark the Malaysian launch, Xiaomi will also host the “REDMI Boss for a Day: Meerqeen” event at Xiaomi Store The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur on 5 September 2026. Customers who pre-order a REDMI Note 17 Pro Series device and collect it from 10 am onwards that day will have a chance to gain access to a special meet-and-greet session with REDMI Note 17 Series Malaysia Ambassador Meerqeen, subject to availability and first-come, first-served slots.
