Xiaomi Launches Redmi Note 12 Series in Malaysia

Xiaomi officially launched the Redmi Note 12 series in Malaysia, featuring three devices — Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12 5G, and Redmi Note 12.

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is the top-of-the-line in the series, which sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ Flow AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.

In terms of cameras, the phone has a triple-camera setup on the back — 200MP f/1.65 main with OIS + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro. For the first time in the Redmi Note series, the phone features OIS. The main camera also features ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition), which allows better image performance in complex lighting conditions. The phone also has a 16MP front camera for taking selfies.

The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 120W HyperCharge. Other features are IP53 splash-proof, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and IR blaster. The phone runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13.

Redmi Note 12 5G

The Redmi Note 12 5G is the middle child, which has some compromises over the Pro+. It sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED DotDisplay with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Yup, this is the first phone with Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor in Malaysia.

It also has a triple-camera setup on the back — 48MP f/1.8 main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro. The phone also has a 13MP front camera for taking selfies.

Just like the Pro+, it also packs a 5,000mAh battery, but it only supports 33W fast charging. Other features are IP53 splash-proof, NFC, and IR blaster. The phone runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13.

Redmi Note 12

The Redmi Note 12 is the most affordable one in the series without 5G connectivity, which also has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED DotDisplay with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.

The phone has the same triple-camera setup on the back, but the main camera has been swapped to the 50MP sensor. It also has a 13MP front camera for taking selfies.

Similar to the 5G variant, it also packs a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Other features are IP53 splash-proof, NFC, and IR blaster. The phone runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
