realme 6 and 6 Pro Officially Announced

realme has just announced two new mid-range devices — the realme 6 and 6 Pro. Both smartphones now have a 90Hz ultra-smooth LCD display, not OLED because it would definitely cost more.

According to the company, the realme 6 is the successor of the realme 5 Pro, while the realme 6 Pro enters another new category.

realme 6

The realme 6 sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ 90Hz LCD display. Since it is not an OLED display, it’s impossible for the phone to have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Hence, realme has integrated the fingerprint sensor into the power button.

Powering the phone is a MediaTek Helio 90T processor with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage. In terms of camera, the phone has a quad-camera setup — 64MP f/1.8 Samsung GW1 main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP monochrome portrait lens + 2MP macro lens. Selfie wise, there’s a 16MP front-facing cutout camera.

The phone packs a 4,300mAh battery with 30W Flash Charge. Like the realme C3, it runs on realme UI based on Android 10. The phone will be available in Comet Blue and Comet White.

Realme 6 Pro

The realme 6 Pro has a pretty different back design which is inspired by lightning. It is quite similar to the regular realme 6, but with better specs. It has a bigger 6.6-inch Full HD+ 90Hz LCD display with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage.

It also has a quad-camera setup, but the 2MP monochrome portrait lens has been replaced with a 12MP telephoto lens. Selfie wise, the phone has two front cameras — 16MP Sony IMX471 + 8MP ultra-wide lens.

The phone also has a 4,300mAh battery with 30W Flash Charge and runs on realme UI based on Android 10. The phone will be available in Lightning Blue and Lightning Orange.

Unfortunately, the launching date of both phones in Malaysia remains unknown. We’ll keep you posted.
