realme 5i and Buds Air Officially Launched in Malaysia

realme Malaysia just launched the new addition to the realme 5 series family — the realme 5i, together with the True Wireless Smart Assistant realme Buds Air.

The realme 5i is basically a pretty similar device to the realme 5, which we reviewed last year. The main differences are the lower-res 8MP front-facing camera and a different back design, called Sunrise Design.

The rest of the specs remains the same, such as:

The realme Buds Air is the company’s first true wireless earbuds, which comes with the custom R1 chip and Bluetooth 5.0 that enables an instant and stable connection between the earbuds and the phone. It also provides better battery performance and accessible smart controls.

No doubt the design looks pretty familiar, and its case actually supports wireless charging. The company claims that the Buds Air is able to deliver a total of 17 hours of music playback and provides intuitive battery information on your phone.

Additionally, it also comes with intelligent touch operation and provides smart controls to answer / end calls, switch music, launch voice assistant and enter/exit performance mode with a touch. The built-in Google Assistance lets one experience a smart new lifestyle without taking out your phone by controlling music playback, calls, volume adjustment and information services, such as weather.

Availability

The realme 5i will be available in Aqua Blue and Forest Green, retailing at RM599. Its first online sale will be on January 28th, 12 AM via Lazada. As for the first offline sale, it will be on January 18th and each purchase will get a CNY 2020 gift.

The realme Buds Air will be available in White, while Black and Yellow will be available at a later date. Its first online sale will be on 21st January, 12 AM via Shopee. It will be retailing at RM299, but the price will reduce to RM199 on January 21st, exclusively via Shopee.
