Announced last month, Nothing has finally unveiled the Nothing Phone (4a) series in Malaysia. The Phone (4a) series evolves Nothing’s signature design, fusing human warmth with elite engineering.
Nothing Phone (4a) Pro

The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro moves from a plastic frame to a metal unibody construction. Despite the sturdier build, the device is actually slimmer at 7.95mm, while maintaining the same overall weight. The phone carries an IP65 rating and can reportedly withstand shallow submersion of up to 25cm for 20 minutes.
It sports a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,260 × 2,800 pixels. The panel supports peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits and uses 2,160Hz PWM dimming. Protection is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Nothing has also equipped the phone with a large 5,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system.

The Phone (4a) Pro has a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera using the Sony Lytia 700C (OIS) + a 50MP periscope telephoto camera using the Samsung ISOCELL JN5 (3.5× optical zoom) + an 8MP ultra-wide unit with a 120-degree field of view. Video recording supports 4K at 30fps with Ultra XDR. Meanwhile, the front camera has been downgraded to a 32MP sensor.
Another major addition is the Glyph Matrix, a circular LED system on the back consisting of 137 LEDs. Inspired by the Nothing Phone (3), the lighting system can reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness and offers various notification and utility functions.
The phone packs a 5,080mAh battery with support for 50W wired charging. According to Nothing, the battery should retain at least 90% of its original capacity after 1,200 charging cycles.
On the software side, it runs Nothing OS 4.1, based on Android 16. Nothing is promising three Android OS updates and six years of security patches.
Nothing Phone (4a)

The standard Phone (4a) retains many of the Pro model’s features but makes a few compromises to keep the price lower. It continues to use a plastic frame and is slightly thicker at 8.55mm, while also carrying a lower IP64 rating.
It features a smaller 6.78-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,224 × 2,720 pixels. Peak brightness reaches up to 4,500 nits, while durability is again handled by Gorilla Glass 7i.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Camera hardware is largely similar to the Pro model, except that the main camera now uses a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN9 sensor instead of the Sony sensor found on the Pro. It retains the same 50MP 3.5× periscope telephoto camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 32MP front camera.
Just like the Pro, it has a 5,080mAh battery with support for 50W wired charging. The phone runs Nothing OS 4.1, based on Android 16 with the promise of three Android OS updates and six years of security patches.
