LG Velvet Officially Announced

The LG Velvet is now official! LG aims to usher in a new era of elegant, user-centric design, and seamlessly integrated 5G user experience with this new device. The LG Velvet has a nature-inspired design language, boasting smooth, polished surfaces and distinctive elements that set it apart from its peers.

On the exterior, the Velvet has its rear cameras in a vertical arrangement, that called the “Raindrop” camera. The front and rear edges of the phone is also slightly curved, creating a pleasing shape to hold, LG calls this design feature – 3D Arc Design. Besides that, the device comes in four “expressive” colors, which are, Illusion Sunset, Aurora White, Aurora Gray, and Aurora Green; finished in a premium and glossy finish.

The display of the Velvet is a 6.8-inch, 20.5:9 aspect ratio P-OLED Cinematic FullVision display, which promises to provide a more enhanced visual experience. Furthermore, it does not compromise on phone audio, offering powerful stereo speakers paired with LG’s 3D Sound Engine that tastefully uses artificial intelligence for an immersive audio experience.

As for the cameras, the rear camera setup is a 48MP main, 8MP wide, and 5MP depth sensor whereas the front camera is a 16MP camera, making it a device capable of taking detailed and beautiful pictures. LG features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor on the Velvet, it is produced with a 7nm process and includes the second-generation Snapdragon X52 modem to ensure users get the most out of the 5G service. When paired with LG Dual Screen, there is twice the fun and productivity with active pen input support for comfortable note-taking and sketching.

The LG Velvet will be available in South Korea this May followed by Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia.
